Still don't understand this stigma of not saying a players name... I find it ridiculous personally. Reasoning? Other than the hope that some guy who didn't have the time to double check his list skipped over some body because he was at work and this player who's name can not be spoken drops to you thus bringing your team a championship based on a shroud secrecy. Very realistic for a league that prides itself of mimicking the real deal haha
Your right, very. Are we going to hire camera crews and rent out a venue in NY? Because I'm frankly sick and tired of the lack of realism in this league.
Also, when's the last time you heard a general manager of a NFL team come out and name names during a draft? Yea sheer realism here.
Lol Ok, now things are being taking too literal. So it would be completely ok then if I took on the personality of Peter King and posted a players name. But yet, as "a GM" I cant say a players name...
Yea your right. I have no hobbies and no life that's why I'm pissed lol. I'm a dorky nerd sitting behind my computer all day while the world passes me bye.
It makes people do their own homework. How would you feel if you were targeting a guy at a certain pick and people kept mentioning his name over and over again here drawing other teams attention to him?
Gosh damn it I'm mad as hell. I've invested to much of my precious time to be dicked over like that and not get pissed. And frankly I have anger issues so yes I'm *****in.
Is it okay to talk about the prospects? I've never talked down a draft pick or a acquisition out of respect for the said GM, but I occasionally like talking about a player that gets drafted... Guess I should stop though.
You son of a *****. At least I cleared my acne up this year. I think I'm looking good now. I might even get my first girlfriend.
Um, like a real GM.... I'd probably feel like every other team in the NFL right now who liked Tavon Austin below pick 15.... Point is, players get hyped and talked about. No idea why it's an unspoken rule not to do it here...
Lol I know. I'm just enraged right now. I might kill a puppy today because of this ****. Mike Vick style.
Wouldn't bother me one bit, cause I'm not into censoring what the heck people should talk about. Hell it's part of the strategy. Draw folks to pick players you hold no interest in. ie: For me...draw attention to QB's for instance. I mean hell I had one GM keep an open thread tracking my FA and encouraging folks to snipe. It was cute ;p Edit: By the way ....not bored now...we got discussion! ;p
Also its simple etiquette. You can choose what you do, where it's within the realms of etiquette or not. In terms of being a GM, with great power comes great responsibility.
Onoz....now were Spiderman! Have I mentioned by the way..as much as you like keeping it quiet.........it's in this GM's best interest for someone to pick him up so ;p
Spiderman? As a GM would could crush that tight-wearing dickwads spirits time and time again. GM > Spiderman.
I'll make my pick in 10 minutes. Was gonna let Pete announce it assuming he was near a PC allowing him to do a write up... I'm on my phone soooo no write up from me.
I'd talk about that trade GIK just made...but god forbid there's actual conversation and speculation around here ;p *ducks*
If someone through out a name just out of spite to get a player out of your hands, then yes that's screwed up. But saying you can't talk about draft prospects in general in a draft thread is ridiculous.
Its all fair game imo...but "hating" on something another gm does is way worse than saying player X is available. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Especially when your trading down. You want to be able to advertise a pick to drum up interest in it.
Only guy I know that has a son but threatens his ex best friend a beat down if he didnt claim him. To far??? I only say this because we know no one here lol
Yes thanks again Van. I went to having pick 37 and about to draft Fluker to a text that says "hold off on that trade. Getting a lot more offers now"
Your welcome ;p I can be a dick at times (hell it's my GM persona once Todd bowed out)...but I give out the odd favor lol. *cough*Lavonte...below trade chart trades*cough*
All I will say is Nappy can sigh with relief because I am not selecting that player. He's not a scheme fit.
I'm thinking.....LB/CB...maybe even start the RB's. Could even see a TE. Like I said...you got flexibility here.
Eh. People know how much I want to move up now. It would cost me an arm and a leg. I'm just going to sit at 52 for all I care now.
