The sunburst IS an "M" all the way around, brilliant!

 

Its not about the Dolphins. Its about the sheer monumental stupidity of the public when presented with change...regarding logos and graphic identities.

 

Oh, gotcha.

I think all of us make one in our midns we will like etc. We have been staring at the same variation of logo since the 60s, it will be tough to adjust, but we all be ok.

 

They talk about mistakes that happen when unveiling logos. Honestly, if you have time later I highly recommend listing to it. Its a good listen.

Look from the outside in. Large, small, large, etc etc spikes. 'M' shapes in the aqua.

 

Not to mention, people change their approach when they just see a logo/design and when you ask them what they think of the logo/design. Never ask the public their opinion.

 

Judging by the podcast, and some of the posts here, some are saying we aren't allowed to not like it.

 

No one said that, just stop it.

 

Not saying you per se, but look through some of the posts. Every time posters say they don't like it, there is always a retort.

 

I would say that many of the people who don't like it are doing so for emotional reasons unrelated to the actual logo rather than any objective or even subjective reason related to the logo. They're simply against it b/c they resist change. I don't know which people are which and most of them don't either. That's just human nature.

 

I don't mind change. I don't mind the fan made one that's so popular, but I hate the supposedly new official one.

That's the point of a message board...discussion.

No one is saying you should like any logo though which is what you were saying.

However, as any graphic designer will tell you, this stuff is subjective to the average person but less so to people who know what they are talking about. There are actual real reasons from practical, to color, to mood, to function, to form that make a logo good or bad and they are quantifiable and legit. The problem is, everyone knows a kid, that is an artist and makes logos and stuff and people don't realize you can get a Masters in design, there's that much behind professional design.

Further, the point of a logo is not necessarily for people to "like" it.

 

I get what your saying Noles....and Im not saying this pertains to you. But...quite a few who dont like it, come off sounding like kids who didnt get their way. When I hear things like...."I wont ever buy anything with that logo on it....to me that just comes off as a pretty dumb comment, because, if we won a championship...is any Dolfan really not going to buy a Super Bowl shirt , hat, etc because of the logo?

Now..I have seen some well articulated reasons for not liking the logo...and I can pretty confidently tell you not one person in this forum has any problem with those...

You are not being persecuted for liking or not liking a logo...do you understand that?

Just can't do it.

I LOVE the new sun burst design, and I like the Dolphin. I just wanted the traditional pose.

But I'm the sucker that will load up my credit card regardless, so whatever.

 

Now that the logo has been supposedly leaked . . . how about the wordmark? Will it change, too?

As much as I don't like the new logo, it would be even worse if it was put near the old wordmark. The styles just don't match. Here's hoping at least for a decent font . . .

I assume word mark changes but it had neither been confirmed or denied. Hasn't even been talked about really. Colors of it will Atleast be different so it's guaranteed to be different. How much is left to be seeb

I'm assuming the font changes from the bubbly font to a harsher font, I would suspect it takes characteristics from the sunburst, but who knows. Someone mentioned it should be an art deco font, which screams miami, and I agree, but the marlins already kinda did the art deco thing and it looks like poop on a stick

I think some user in this thread "confirmed" it as fake a few days ago. Could be wrong or he was taking Mike Dee's tweets as legitimate confirmation though.

 

Only on the bottom of the sunburst. On top we`re the Wisconsin Dolphins.

 

I understand what your saying but it's not really about the colors, I didn't pick the dolphins because of their colors. I have no problem with the colors, I wear them all the time. I'm just not really feelin' the logo at the moment. I know it's hard for a dolphin to look "tough" but this doesn't look like it should be the logo of a football team. I mean at least put a realistic looking eye on the thing, it really does look like it should be on the side of a cruise ship. Rafael has it right I think I'm just emotionally attached and scared of this drastic change lol, since it's a whole new position/pose and everything.

Fair enough. If you don't like the logo, you don't like the logo. There is no accounting for anyone's taste.
(mine included). I just don't agree that anyone should let non dolphin fans have any influence.



I find all the attempts to make a dolphin look angry or mean to be childish. That was my main fear, a logo that I found to be childish. The rumored logo is not, so I am pleased.

Yeah, I agree all those fan mock up's were ridiculous. If this is it i'm sure I'll eventually come around to it, can't wait to see the actually uniforms though.

 

The more I see it the more I like it. I didn't think it was better or worse when I first saw it, just thought it was different.
