Getting into more detail, Jim Rome stated that Parcells is a quick-fix guy coming to a one-win team. He says it won't work because the Dolphins are not a quick-fix situation.

He would have a point were it not for the reasonable presumption that Bill Parcells knows exactly what the hell he's getting in to.

Rome is one of the commentators that was seriously cheering for the Fins to go 0-16.

When the Dolphins are turned around, and we will be, our players should boycott this low grade moron's show, no one, not Front Office people Coaches or Players should bother to appear on his tripe laden show.

How can he have a point when every team Parcells has gone to was not a "quick fix" situation.

Jim Rome is just another wiseguy with a TV " show ". His abrasive manner of mocking and demeaning certain people on air has been criticized by some but applauded by fans as his unique "talking smack" air style. Frequently, he will "run calls" (hang up on callers, sometimes using his infamous "manual buzzer") if they "flame," stammer, fail to make a point quickly, or touch upon a subject that Rome has black-listed. "Talking smack," a kind of quick-witted insult and taunting banter in which callers take to task other callers or people in the sports world, is favored by Rome.

Personally, I don't like him or watch him and just change the channel when his " show " is on air.

I enjoy his radio more than his TV show. He has been ripping on the Fins a lot this year and that does piss me off, but all in all the guy is pretty good when it comes to radio.

Eh. The flawed part of the argument is that Rome, as well as the rest of the sports world is talking about the Fins. So they are relevant. Heck, The Dolphins have been on the main page of Yahoo twice in the past week. Short of the Patriots, I can't think of another football team getting more press than Miami.

I know what Jim is saying, but his general argument is flawed.

The main reason I am happy we got Parcells is that many players will probably now decide they want to play for the Dolphins...which they probably would not have done had the Tuna not come here. They know Parcell's reputation and how he will try to bring a winning team here.

Complete shock jock crapola! Jim Rome can be entertaining at times and then turn around pull the shock jock junk-just like Colin Cowherd. Parcells can turn us around. He left unfinished business with Dallas because he could not stand Jerry Jones or TO any longer. And he succeeded in turning around every NFL team he led as coach; G-men, the Green Slime, and the pre-cursor to the present Evil Empire.

Good point. Dead wood will leave here quickly. Parcells will bring in his calibre of players and those who don't want to be with the program will be shown the door. A clear line in the sand drawn.

On his radio show he's been begging for the double whammy. Patriots perfect (16-0 is not going to cut it, have to go all the way) and Dolphins imperfect. At least we are out of the equation. Oh Rex Ryan, why did you have to call that timeout!

Very disrespectful comment and very inaccurate too. The Dolphins had a very bad year with all the injuries, but now we are sitting on the first pick in the draft, a stable of running backs, plenty of cap space, Trent Green may not be finished, Beck does have a legitimate shot at being a very good player, Cleo is now a valuable player, a lot of fresh players got valuable playing time this year (with more to come in two more games) and on and on. What team has more upside right now than the Miami Dolphins? This team will turn around faster than anyone can imagine right now and be pretty relevant when we are beating the Bills and Jets twice each next year. I hope every player blacklists Rome in solidarity respect to Bill Parcels and shows Rome how insignificant he is.
    Rome- destroyed in a day!

I love Romey even when he clubs my team over the head.

He does not say anything that is not true. If you are good he'll talk about you and have your players on the show. Sam Madison used to be a regular guest.

If you suck he'll remind you ALL THE TIME how much you suck.

The cure? Stop sucking, hopefully we do...............soon.

There's a serious difference between reminding a team that they suck and actively rooting against them and for their divisional rival who is on the verge of equaling the one record that defines this franchise.

Every single season he openly roots for a team to go winless, he's done it as long as I've listened to him, probably 5-6 years running.

He was not picking on the Dolphins, he does it to any team that gets to about 0-8. I think it's funny to be honest, I've always wanted to see a team go 0-16....I just did not think it would be us who came so damn close to it.

He's a shock jock and their jobs are to attracted attention using humor that a significant portion of the listening audience may find offensive. The sole purpose is to attract ratings for the broadcaster and network, they don't care about content or any FCC regulations.

Other examples are Don Imus and Howard Stern and personally, I don't watch or listen to any of them !

when are you people ever going to stop paying attention to what this jamoke has to say?

he's the jerry springer of sports; he's a failure as a human being, except in promoting himself. he's an arrogant jerk who doesn't believe 2/3 of what he says, he only says it to get a rise. jeez.

would you give any credence to jeffrey dahmer's opinions as a gourmet?
