Miami Dolphins New logo/uniforms Thread

All due respect to Section126, I'm more inclined to agree with chadisawesome here. I think the logo/uni redesign is a done deal. Maybe that's just my gut. Or, maybe what chad wrote just struck a nerve with me? I dunno. But, I will say this, Sec, when I read your post from the other day:

I remember thinking that was a contradiction. How can he say in one breath you're going to "love it." And, in the other nothing is "set in stone?" Just doesn't make sense. I think your guy was either telling you what he thought you wanted to hear, or trying to have you believe the leaked logo couldn't be the final one because it's still being tweaked. So, IMO he's either full of it, or he's trying to cover up the leak. JMHO, I could be completely off base. And, please do not misunderstand Sec., I'm not trying to flame you. I believe you. I also have all the respect for you as far as this board goes. So, no hard feelings I hope.

All that said, and in the meantime...reading this thread is a very entertaining way to pass the time this off-season. I'm learning all about how real dolphins hump and fight, douche massages, and angry mobs of midgets. Fascinating stuff.

 

My understanding is that the logo has to go to the NFL first before it makes its way back to the team and that it would have to have occurred months ago. Any tweaks after that would just be minor. The uniforms, I believe, get designed after that and are open to minor tweaking also, but the basic designs of both the logo and uniform are in place months before.

 

Studies have shown that people (especially males) that try to insult other people because they are trying to share info, are generally stunted developmentally, probably due to abuse and/or molestation.

You misunderstood or mis-read my post.

I said that I tried to get as much info out of somebody that would absolutely, positively, without a doubt, bet your house with your mother in it, KNOW what the logo and Uniform looks like.

He gave me NADA. zilch. nothing. All he did was give me the same dance he had given me before. That I would "love" it.

That is when I described what I would "love".

and he didn't sound so sure anymore.

I then said that it was my gut that it wasn't finalized. I didn't provide any new info on the logo. Just that I am likely to be disappointed, since it is VERY likely to be the opposite of what I wanted.

I want it to be Miami centric. Keep our identity, and our history, but have our logo SCREAM Miami...

Like the Ravens Primary and secondary logo does.

I don't believe there was ever much chance the logo would replace the mammal with lettering so your disappointment was probably inevitable in that regard. But the navy being minimal is a strong likelihood and the stripes on the sleeve are at least a possibility so you may be at least pleased with those parts.

 

Section what do you do? I thought you frequented strip clubs and rotary club meetings?

 

Maybe I misunderstood. And, maybe I still do. But, just so I'm sure I'm being clear...IMHO it is a contradiction to say on one hand you will love it. And, in the next breath say nothing is set in stone (i.e., meaning changes can still occur). That, to me anyway, is a contradiction. And, I think it creates a creditability issue with your source. Either that, or he's just stroking you.

Again, that's just my opinion. I am not trying to flame. Either way, it's all good Section. Peace...out.

 

a dolphin with a sun behind it is as " Miami centric " as it gets. .... you can't "scream miami" any louder than that.

what other logo is more representative of its team's city ?

Saints ? Cowboys ? Texans ? Patriots ? Steelers ?

I think we'll all be OK with the logo as long as it doesn't look like a whale.

And I'd be OK with navy blue. Miami has water. Water is blue.

You know what's interesting about this new 'leaked' logo? I've shown it to like 8 different people who are not Dolphins fans and its unanimously believed to be badass. Im talking jets, giants, and steelers fans. Yet it seems dolphins fans are the ones crying over it.

Idk, i think its pretty awesome looking. I also don't really see how there can be much speculation left, that uni is pretty legit looking.
