PROPOSALS ON THE SHOW VIA DANIEL JEREMIAH: Trade our 1 and 3A to trade spots with Cleveland at 6, selecting Lane Johnson. Maybe Chance Warmack, if we don't move up. He also suggested that Jeffy could take corners with our 2A and 2B picks (Blidi Wreh-Wilson and Robert Alford were the examples he used). That's pretty much all they said, lol.
Hmm, hopefully by letting Big Jake walk, they are signaling that the whole "offensive linemen in top 15 pick" era is over. And why you'd pay that much to move up to take a tackle is a bit mystifying
He's a great prospect but no thanks on trading up for Johnson. Someone tell these guys our preference is a ZBS (in regards to their Warmack comment). So our first 3 picks are: LT Lane Johnson CB Blidi Wre-Wilson CB Robert Alford Pretty half-arsed overall effort. Color me unimpressed on their "breakdown". They'd get a D- grade if they posted this on ThePhins.
Brandon Albert is available for a 2nd and Eric Winston is sitting there. Two perfect FAs for the zone based system in their prime and they're going to waste 1st round picks?
Ill tell ya where the Path to the draft is... Thephins.com draft forum.. Fu&$in NFL network....if they were cutting edge they would assemble a scout team with some personalities and ask them, not ask former vets like dukes and Irvin and sapp about prospects..
Lombardi used to be VERY good, but he's now with the Browns. They have a new young guy who is a professional scout and he's ok, not nearly as good as Lomardi, but ok. Problem is, you don't know who's going to be doing the show. When you get the ex-players giving their opinions, it's horrible.
Yeah, that's Daniel Jeremiah. He's alright in his evaluations but not so much in his mocks. Though mocks are kind of wishy washy to begin with.
I think their problem is that they have all these failed GM's on their show now. Mike Tannenbaum, Scott Pioli, Ted Sundquist, Charley Casselry.....etc.
I enjoy hearing failed or former GMs. Even the bad ones usually have good insight to the process. Granted, some of them are unbearable to listen to. I kind of like Casserly. My favorite at all, even though I don't think he was ever an actual GM is Pat Kirwan on Sirius NFL.
These failed GMs are still better than anyone out there though. They mostly got to that position somehow. An eye for talent and assembling a roster are two different things, and sometimes lacking in one will get you fired.
Think he was director of player administration for the jets , among many other footblall positions. Like him as well.
I'd rather sign Winston than trade a 2 for Albert. Then draft Austin, and a couple of corners with one being Jordan Poyer.
I wouldn't rank Sundquist as a failure on the level of those others. He actually did some good things in Denver when one examines his track record.
In theory I would too. But if they're willing to drop a big contract and 2nd round pick for Albert after making a push for Long, something tells me they're sh*ting their pants at the thought of rolling the dice on Martin at LT.
I actually like Pioli on there (too bad he wasn't working tonight); hate Tannenbaum. I would hate that draft they gave. Don't mind the CBs. Martin is the issue - scary. He still shows some promise but will it happen this year? Mmmmm... If I knew they were going Austin in round 1, I'd be willing to give up a 2 for Albert. Maybe as the draft nears we can get him for a 3 if no one bites?
The problem is people taking these breakdown/mock drafts seriously. Its just entertainment and filler for the network. they're not stupid, they realize FA isnt over and if Miami traded for Albert and signed Grimes that would effect their mock draft. this is more of a "what should the teams do as of today" sorta deal.

I think thats why Ireland said " Jon Martin is CURRENTLY our starting left tackle " He should have added " Martin Currently at so an so AZ time is our starting left tackle but there is plenty of hours left in the day and days in the week and weeks in the month " LOL " They " are not the only ones crapping in their trousers at that thought, currently that is
Its just opinion by two talking heads. Other drafts have us jumping on Tavon Austin which I would not be too unhappy about. I know the Rams want him and I would just draft him to draft him. Besides, not too shabby if we had Wallace,Austin, Hartline Gibson and Keller on the field all at one time. If you are a D co ordinator how in the world do you cover that ? If Tannehill improves the way we all think he will all he has to do is throw the ball up in the air, one of them will run under it like Martz used to do in St. Louis during the greatest show on turf days.
Oh I don't know. I kind of thinks its fun to watch someone as bad as me play at GM. Only difference is he is getting paid to shovel this stuff.
With the "boasting" Rams fans are doing after getting Long, Cook, and Jeff Fisher, it'd be enjoyable to watch their tune change after we swipe Austin.
I have felt since the signing of Wallace that the Dolphins would draft an offensive lineman with their first round pick. They could possibly draft a CB, but I am still leaning toward them selecting Johnson or Warmack with their first pick. The only thing which might alter my view is if the Dolphins sign Vollmer or Winston, or trade a second round pick for Albert.
On the humorous side...................can you imagine the questions Ireland would ask if he was on this show.
I feel like LG is almost as important as RT in our scheme. As such, could Warmack play there? Is he mobile enough? If so, I wouldn't go insane if we traded back to 18 with Dallas then selected Warmack and used the extra second on a Tackle like Watson or Nixon.
Hmm, not sure b/c RT's and G's work relatively cheaply, it would make more sense to draft a Cb and sign offensive lineman as Cb's cost more $$$.
KB noted that perhaps Cooper fits better in our system (GB's) than Warmack. But, both Warmack and Cooper have a great shot at going top 15. Not that you like an OG there but, if you are talking BPA... well, certainly Warmack should go there. I don't want a CB at #12. Nor do I want any of the DE/OLBs there either (too many question-marks). Austin would be 1st choice - then it would be one of the OTs if they fell. Otherwise, one of the OGs.
Boasting about what exactly? That may be even remotely relevant by October? For the first time in a decade?
