Welcome back Gish. I think that the front office wasn't impressed with our "leadership" last year. Which is why you've seen them shipped out.
Long: Had Brinks truck deliver his money no matter his play. Does'nt want to give the home town discount now. Screw him Dansby:Unfortunately I have another jersey to retire now. He is not the greatest thing since sliced bread. Good...., but not self proclamation and say things that pisses off the organization..good. Good bye Bush: Good guy. Good leader. We need first downs. We have a guy we like. I understand why we let go of him. I don't understand why this is that important really. If you can't keep your **** together and play football without a childish pep talk, then GTFO. This is not a Disney Movie.
Who is this GISH guy you speak of? And, yes, this is the second identical thread I have read in the last 10 seconds......
Long couldn't stay on the field, Ellerbe is younger and better than Dansby at this point, and Bush, well, he was a liability as well as a superstar. He was tough to support.
Tannehill and Philbin's team now, I like it. Long is the only guy that I really want to keep although his play took a step back this year.
^this I think tannehill has all the weight on his shoulders now. He better get the deep ball early and often with Wallace. And he needs to command respect in the locker room and huddle.
I will keep it short and sweet, you are wrong, completely wrong. Long has not been a leader for a few years now. Maybe in some fans minds but certainly not in a lot of the members of the teams minds. Tell me this. How many times have you seen Long or quotes from Long in the press in 2012 and the latter part of 2011 ? Like it or not, Jake Long was a prima dona type and when Tony left the building do did Longs standing with the team. Great kid, yes, but if Long isn't stroked on a daily basis he reacts badly. Love the kid, wish he stays at a good price but Jake Long is not the Jake Long we drafted folks.
With all due respect, nonesense. A kid doesn't have to be a media hound to be a leader. Jake Long was a leader on the field and in the locker room. He led by example. He played hurt, and busted his *** through some nasty shoulder issues...never making excuses or throwing anybody under the bus....ever.
GISH is like a zombie. Back from the dead. Yup exactly like a zombie, a crazy, crazy zombie who hates paul.
BS its the truth. Just because some fans loved Jake does not mean his team mates looked up to him as a leader. When Tony was here ? Yes, the team had not choice because Jake could do no wrong but once Philbin came ? No, Jake dropped down the totem pole and to be honest, a lot of the team was very happy. Jake has played like crap the last two years and in 2011 he was still held high by Sparano. If you think that does not piss players off then think again. Jake could screw up and it was always put on someone else. He could not do that in 2012.
Just because you don't like Jake doesn't mean what you are saying is true either. We NEVER heard bad words come from the mans mouth. Other players looked at him as a bookend. He played his *** off hurt each and every down. He never talked bad about anybody...ever. Some guys don't need to talk to be leaders.
Bull, I like the kid I just know what the real thing is Besides asswads like Marshal or Ocho Cinco when did you ever hear bad words about any team from any player ? Its the way they make a living, they are not stupid The players Looked at him as a bookend ? Please, clue me in on that remark. Jake has not played well for over two seasons now. Every single player plays hurt, accept that. You last statement is a repeat of your first statement and I will repeat mine. Name players that talked down about their team and I will show you players that got cut or are just plain asswads. You find one post where I said I did not like Jake. The reality is, Jake is not the Jake we drafted and probably never will be again.
What kind of leadership do you have on a 7-9 team? Bush played hard and maintained a clean respectable image but I don't think he provided the leadership you would expect from a team leader. I just don't think the team has a real identity yet. There's plenty of candidates who could step up and take the roll. Wake, Tannehill, Pouncey, Wallace. Someone will step into the roll, its just a question of who will accept it and when.
We will have to find out. All of us know now that he is the guy. Matching production from that position will be a struggle IMO.
Damn Jake must of really wanted to gtfo here, dragging his mamacita to St. Louis and sh&$ to play on turf..dude must hate being a dolphin.
What the hell though, we paid the dude 50 cool mill and he didnt earn it all...why play games, if he does sign with the rams, like I've said, he didnt want to be a true blood.
Long is an enigma to me, love his talent and respect his ability, but based on the last 2 years performance and his injury bug, I don't want to pay him what he wants. Just think he can be replaced at his current level and at fairly reasonable cost. Bush has talent, but he didn't prove he is an every down back, his YPC was poor at best, he only excites me when he gets the ball in the open field, not really going to miss him because I think his replacement is going to be considerably better, has already shown it IMHO. Dansby never lived up to the hype IMHO, he is a solid, but not great player. Ellerbe is a great player, Burnett has been replaced with a considerable upgrade. If we get our CB/Safety positions solid, this could be a SERIOUSLY SCARY DEFENSE! Color me very pleased with our three FA signings and looking for one more significant upgrade, preferably at TE. Ireland may have just redeemed himself this FA and we're only in the first day.
They are not all gone yet, in fact I am not aware of any of them signing anywhere as of yet and I believe Miami has made all 3 of them offers to stay. If they go it will be about one thing........Money I hope all 3 are on the roster at the start of the season.
Bush signed a four year deal with the Lions for considerably less money than he's been payed here, which means Miller was the plan and he knew it. Dansby was cut because he wouldn't restructure his deal. Long, though, has said he'll give the Phins a chance to match any offers.
Who were the 3 guys who went to coach Philbin to represent the team last year when Ochocinco was in deep doodoo? All three of them are gone.
