Funny thing is, no Rey M either

And did not think our Lb's were a problem last season tbh

It looks as if Miami is not only looking to get younger in the LB corps but faster as well. I would not be surprised that the 0-7 start in 2011 and with most of the defense coming into camp overweight and out of shape, left a bad taste in Ireland's craw? Good riddance to those fat cats and underachiever's. I want young hungry players!!!

No as posted by someone else a few posts up they are planning on moving Wheeler to SLB and use Misi in a different way which could be a rotational DE with Odrick

I've been saying for a while now that Miami needed to get faster in the linebacking corps. I think this may suggest what style of coverage Miami will predominately play. Miami is bringing in linebackers that can get out into the flats. Me thinks Miami is going to be doing a lot of quarters coverage next year with some pattern reading. Definitely a lot of zone coverage, which is why Sean Smith isn't being brought back, IMO.

I like Wheeler all the way back to his days at GT. But hes more of a WLB IMO. and for the 3rd time, Misi going to DE is just a bad move IMO.

I'm loving today. Definitely making the most of our cap room. For all we know it could end up blowing up in our
faces, but at least Ireland would be gone.

Here's to hoping this offseason works out as planned and Ireland is here to stay though!

This is great news. Getting younger at linebacker while opening up a cap space. Tear it up, Ireland. Surprise us some more!

speeeeeeeed. We saw what San Fran could do with Willis and Bowman vs the pats offense and said, we need that. The question is how do they all fit in (if we're keeping Burnett). Ellerbe playing middle? Wheeler or Burnett playing Will?

We'll see. I trust Coyle to know what to do with these players though. And I'm hoping we can get Carradine in a mid round pick.

Can't justify drafting a wr nor de at 12 now IMO. Tackle would be upsetting. Db- milliner, vaccaro? Is eifert worth the 12? Coming from an Ireland separatist, eating crow today. Much kudos and many thanks.

playing scared and conservative is why we've been so mediocre. at least these guys are young and we aren't overpaying for injury-prone vets like we did in the past.
our LB corps was good, but certainly not "very good" last season. they should have been better given our front four. Now I think we finally have the makings of a dominant front 7.

question is: where to go with #12 pick? you can either get Xavier Rhodes and get the dominant defense, or Eifert and potentially great offense.

Fast ones too (though Burnett/Dansby are not slow). Nevertheless, young + fast sounds great.

Remember though, while we definitely upgrade our already good linebacking corps. We still have no clue what we have at 3 of our offensive line spots, TE, and either starting corner. Theres still a lot of work to do.
