Perhaps I'm getting a little spoiled here with all of these signings, but I still feel like our WR corps could be bolstered. Sure, we added a vertical threat, but after Wallace on our depth chart is the same crew that most of us have been throwing tomatoes at for years. Whether it be through free agency or the draft, are we done here? Or could we add a guy like Jennings, Alexander, Welker, Gibson, or Cruz through FA or Austin, Patterson, Allen in the draft? I suppose we'll add a tight end too...the idea of a genuine receiving threat from that position seems so foreign after all these years.
free agency? Yes... Draft?? That's where it gets interesting. IMO it depends on what we think of Bess.
Is it a trade? I was under the impression that (if) we sign him, we give our 1st to the Giants. I guess it's technically an exchange, but I don't believe we need their consent. It's more of a compensation kind of thing.
i think we're done with FA WRs, unless its a #4-5 guy on the cheap. If we wouldnt have just recently resigned Hartline, then maybe we would have gone after someone like Jennings, Welker or Armendola I still think that if we get a shot at the WR from Tenn at #12 we go for it, if not best available at position of need or maybe drop down a few spots for Austin
No, it increases the odds IMO b/c we obviously seem to be in offensive firepower mode and now need to turn our attention to complimenting Wallace so defenses can't focus on taking him away. Tavon Austin, come on down. You're the next contestant on the price is right to be a Dolphin.
I believe they have a right to match any offer, and if they choose not to, then they get our 1st round pick
Like most said, the draft would be the most logical source for another wr. Just saw that Darius Hayward bey is free now? I think they spend the rest of fa getting a cb, ot, s, and maybe te before the draft....
I really want to see Rishard Matthews get a decent shot on this team, I liked what we saw from him last season and I think he could make an impact as the 4th receiver, spend remaining $$$ on CB or OL.
RT @TomPelissero I'm told the #Vikings are NOT actively pursuing Greg Jennings right now. Jesse Agler @finsjesse The (perceived) lack of interest in Greg Jennings has to be a major storyline of this first day, no? Related
Unless Greg Jennings magically cut his price tag in half, we should use one of our first 5 picks on a good young receiver and tight end we can develop. We'll be a better team in the long run for it.
I think we are done signing wide recievers. Mike Wallace was the big name. Brian Hartline re-signed so in a way thats like signing someone. Davone Bess is a very underrated reciever as well. I think those three with Rishard Matthews is what we are looking at. I certainly hope we can add another guy in the draft (I think that is the plan). Tavon Austin or Patterson would be my first choice with our first pick. If we don't go WR in round 1 I think we do it in round three. Bailey, Woods, Justin Hunter all might be available. Damn what a fist day of the offseason.
I'd think that they're going to add... at least... one more WR. My guess is, it'll be on draft day, and we could be looking at 2 more guys then. With Wallace signed, I think Cordarelle Patterson would be out of the equation. He may not even be there at #12. Tavon Austin has been mentioned on this board today. I think, added with Wallace and Miller, Austin would make Miami one scary-fast offense. Stupid-fast, in fact. I wouldn't hate that. I'd have to think he's in the conversation now at 12. Along with Eifert. I also think the Phins will add another WR later on. There are almost too many guys that will be available on draft day two to not take one. Bailey, Woods, Allen, Swope, Williams, Patton... if Ireland doesn't land one of those guys, I'll be disappointed. If he lands Bailey, I'll be doing backflips.
i'd be happy with Justin Hunter with our 1st RD 3 pick .... 2nd RD 2 pick if i have to ... (as long as his knee is good to go) .... like him a lot don't see any more WRs in FA ... 'maybe' a TE ....
