Damn, Burnett or Misi?

Surprised it is not a Te, but Fasano just got overpaid so they maybe waiting

 

Hopefully Burnett. I don't know what people saw in him last season.

 

Would we cut Burnett or just upgrade Misi?

 

Really? I thought Burnett was the good one.

 

Would be a solid addition if he signs....

 

I thought he looked both slow and unexplosive.

 

You would think that Misi is the odd man out since he's a tweener, but Burnett makes $5 mil compared to Misi who makes #1 mil, so they'd prbly cut Burnett. And he was bad in short yardage, goalline situtations last year.

 

I thought we'd attack LB next year in earnest .... but couldn't be happier that Dansby is gone AND we backfill him with Ellerbe.

though I mentioned this as a course of action, I never gave any serious thought we'd go that route ....

I do think that the way Ellerbe played down the stretch and that he learned from Lewis was just too much to pass up -- and that is AWESOME!

Ireland has finally pulled a surprise move -- and a tremendous one at that!

I'll take this move every day over Wallace ....

 

CK, this is an effect I thought might happen.

This was the first offseason of Ireland's tenure where a staff of coaches OTHER than SParano's sat down with Ireland to review player performance, and share thoughts on who to keep, who is not a fit, etc.

A lot of the players who passed muster before, may not be considered 'right' or good enough by the current coaching staff.

I truly beleive Philbin is going to finally educate Ireland on what NON-Parcellian players and teams look like, and kudos to Jeff for seeming willing to take a mulligan on his past evals and decisions.

 

Spiller made him look like a fool in that 2nd Bills game, but otherwise, he made some plays in pass defense.

... I don't know... Honestly.

 

This. Just watching the games this year, it seemed like all 3 starting lbs were a step slow and tackling someone from behind..

This can't be? Ireland consulting with the coach on who is and isn't fitting in the system here?
Who to bring in and who to cut?

Even if we do sign Wheeler I think/hope we hang on to Burnett personally. Unless we have immediate plans and need the dough.

gettin' younger & cheaper at LB but w/o really costing ourselves production.

 

I got this vibe last year when philbin cut most of irish's FAs (vets & undrafted). remember when irish tried to make a case for Les Brown on HK. All the coaches looked at jeff like he was crazy.

 

I saw a very good linebacker. Dunno what you thought you seen.

 

Liked Wheeler a lot coming out of college. I'd be happy with that move. Would have to think that ends Burnett's time in Miami.

Wow. LB was the one position I didn't expect movement and we get 2 on the first day. Now the question is, what happens with Burnett/Misi? Does one get cut? Does Misi get moved to a new position?

I LOVED him in college. Thought he was underrated in Indy and was excellent in Oakland. Made more impact plays than any FA linebacker. Young and cheap.
