    Dansby is getting released

Schefter reporting .They save 4 million dollars on the cap.

Ellerbe gets 5yr/35 mil which looks to be his replacement.

#Dolphins will carry $4.65 million in dead money by cutting Karlos Dansby, but save $3.925 million against the cap

We save nearly 4M in cap. More money to sign someone else.

Good. I liked his signing a lot but his attitude is weak. Great upgrade w Ellerbe.

Saves you 4 million against the cap. yes there will be dead money but you are saving 4 million by not playing him. We do not need him anymore :). Franchise sticking it to him for all that talk!

Not a bad move IMO. He was a bad FA signing as he never lived up to the money he was being paid. Never once that I can recall, changed a game.

He was a good, but not spectacular player for us, don't be an animal about it. He was a good contributor.

No saves us $3.9M in cap space and about $6.05M in cash.

We are eating $4.6M in dead cap (did Ross own the team then or was it still Wayne? Anyway one of them has just eaten a $4.6M hit) but I think Ellerbe's deal could be for around $4M this season and $7M next year which is actually a cap saving overall compared to Dansby.

For a guy who constantly reminds everyone he is the greatest LB ever how many big plays did he actually make in Miami outside of tackles?

Yeah, interesting. Philbin looked so uncomfortable when they brought that up and met with him. I'm gonna guess that we won't see a new leadership council try to form this offseason.

If that's your standard for a bad signing, big money free agency pretty much never has any happy endings.

kind of mixed feeling about this… Dansby is a good player though I think DolFans expected more from him… due to his contract.

And you have to like Ireland not being a stubborn ahole, and admitting mistake and swapping out dansby. Good on him. Getting it done today.

I believe Long is likely gone and that would be the extermination of the leadership council. New leadership council now. Who are the candidates?
