Respectfully disagree. In my admittedly untrained eye, Cruz seems to be much more a product of Eli Manning and that offense. If you look at other WRs who have just stepped in and thrived when Nicks or Cruz were injured and I just don't see Cruz as being as talented as Wallace. I know Wallace has a good QB throwing him the ball also, but he still just looks to be more gifted than Cruz. I could be wrong, just my thoughts.

Not IMO. Just off the top of my head... Calvin, Fitz, Andre, BMarshall, both Falcons WRs, and AJ Green are all better IMO...

Its funny, listening to Mike and Mike this morning they were talking to Drew Bledsoe and they all agreed buyer beware on Cruz. The question was is Cruz that good (He is a slot guy for the Giants) or is it the system, Manning and having Nicks that make him good. Bledsoe brought up his old Slot guy Peerless Price as an example of what he was talking about, he was great with the system the Bills ran, but when he went off to the Falcons and the Cowboys all of the sudden he was not the same guy. They made good points.

Now, I personally think Cruz is a dam good player, but they had compelling arguments. We all think being a GM is take this guy, take that guy, but so much more goes into it.

I dont think its silly at all. Cruz is the definition of a WR that bails out his QB

I rate Cruz. I'm going to look up his stats. If I had a choice right now I would take Cruz over Wallace. Plus when the guy is known for his Salsa dance then you know he's a WR that regularly gets TDS.

He is not even the best WR on the Giants. SO you consider the Giants to have two of the top 5?

    Yeah..no. Top 20..yes. Top 10..maybe (probably not).

Cruz cannot defeat many coverages. He is a nobody without Nicks.

I haven't read through all 15 pages, hope it hasn't been said. Now that We got Wallace will Tannehill give up his number for him? We cant have two 17's on the field. ::knucks:

And Wallace wasn't the best receiver on his team. Antonio Brown was.

We've heard that before but is he the best receiver on our team? ;)

Can't say I'm thrilled at the contract numbers, he's simply not worth that. We just gave him more money than Seattle gave Harvin.

We just have to hope Wallace can still produce 1200-8TD average and Hartline must score more touchdowns at some point. Surely?

As I said in another thread, if you want a Mike Wallace, go to the third round and draft Marquise Goodwin from Texas. Largely the same player (not as polished a route runner, but younger than Wallace). Save the money and be happy.

While I have agreed with most of your posts on this subject KB (we both do not approve of signing Wallace for that money), teams last year did roll a second defender to Wallace and NOT Antonio Brown. This is usually a good sign as to who is the better receiver/more feared weapon.

EDIT: I have to learn how to use

its ironic but the value Wallace brings to this team might have more to do with Hartline then Wallace himself. Hartline coudn't get behind a sloth, but wallace will bring separation. He might be a bit of a 1 trick pony, but its a hell of a trick.

LaDarious Webb said that Brown was the best receiver on the Steeler's team back in 2011. So that is an opposing player saying that.

Hey, I'm not the one that overpaid to get him. I'm just shooting you straight on what type of player he is and how he doesn't fit the scheme.

You wanna make a sig bet Wallace has a better year than Brown?? We will use yards, catches and TDs as the barometer.

    Deal?

Yes...I know. As some one who really enjoys reading your posts though, Id be totally psyched if you moved past this, and got on to some other stuff like your thoughts on the LBrs we signed and coverages we will be playing. The nugget about seeing alot more zone was right on I thought....

Funny thing is, I'm on his side. I'm not happy about the Wallace signing.

But he's a Dolphin now, so I'm optimistic and happy.

At some point you have to accept whatever it is and get behind your football team. If Wallace doesn't pan out we will ALL remember KB21 knew it all along.

Would you rather be right than see our team succeed? Honest question because I have my doubts.

I would rather the team succeed, and that's why I wish they had passed on Wallace. The only way Wallace will work out in Miami is if they drastically change the offensive scheme and cater to him being a vertical stretch guy. You shouldn't change your offensive scheme to fit a receiver though. You should get receivers that fit your offensive scheme. The only position you should change your scheme for is quarterback.

So unless they plan on rolling out with an all out spread offense and abandon many west coast offense principles, this transaction will be looked upon as one of the worst in team history. As it is, they are paying to much for a vertical stretch guy.

Overpaying in FA is very common. But what I like to see is Miami getting the guys THEY want.

If the Austin rumors at 12 hold true, then you very well could see a primarily spread offense. The lack of urgency to sign a RB, or OT points to this being a possibility also.
