Most interesting to FH will be that Parcells has not made any decisions on Cameron or Mueller, and sounded kind of indignant when Wingo asked him about that. Sounds like Parcells will take his time in deciding what to do.
Randy Mueller will be here through the draft at least, he mentioned that he had not talked to either Cam nor Randy so this will be a slow developing sort of thing. I did like what he said about "This is a talent acquisition business, you have to acquire the talent..develop the talent and then Coach the talent" Here Here, part of the reason why I think Dom and Armstrong should go after the season.
I wouldn't really expect him to go on NFL Live after just being named the VP and tell us what he will do with the GM and the HC. Of course he will take his time deciding!
He didn't say much except saying it will be a team effort, and he won't make any decisions until he can personally evaluate each aspect of the team, coach, GM, staff and players. Actually "yes" Mueller will be here through the draft, the scouting is "done" already, to fire Mueller now and rescout the entire country is impossible, so unless we find another GM type who has there own work already finished, I just don't see Mueller being fired until after the draft.
To say Mueller will be around because he has scouted the players already is ridiculous considering the likely canidates were in the league this season like a Jeff Ireland.
You don't fire a GM and bring in a completely new evaluation system for the scouts this close to the draft. You make the changes immediately after the draft. It's worth noting that if Mueller is fired, this will be the 3rd scouting system change in the last four years.
No, it's not ridiculous. Go back and look at when past GMs were fired, and in all but the most egregious cases, they were fired in the days and weeks following the draft. You're under the impression that unlike coaching and system changes, GM and scouting evaluation changes can be made quickly. They can't. They take even longer to implement than offensive or defensive systems.
Agree 100%. There is almost zero chance that Mueller will be gone before the draft. The time to hire/ fire GM's is right after the draft, not right before.
Agreed but I do think he will have a say in how/who we will draft. He will establish the direction we go in.
