Matt Moore rumoured to have been re-signed. Jeff Darlington @JeffDarlington Dolphins get another one done: QB Matt Moore is sticking around. He has signed a deal to stay with Miami as Tannehill's backup, source says.
That would be a huge plus. He's a very humble guy for a QB and Ryan definitely counts on him. And if Devlin keeps playing well...were strong 1-3.
Jeff Ireland gets the 'best backup in the league' back in Miami. The deep and strong QB room will remain. I wonder if it's a 1-year deal or multi. http://www.twitter.com/JeffDarlington/status/310020485448626176
Nothing wrong with this at all. Would be interesting to see the terms and I would assume it is a 1 year deal, 2 at the most. Now onto bigger fish (pun intended)... Get Wallace or Jennings, get Winston and get Grimes.
If this report is true (should be), then I'll feel a lot better than just about any other backup QB on the roster... Isn't it nice, after all these years, to not have to go into the draft HAVING to get a QB ??
Excellent. I think this is a GREAT move by our front office. It will only help Tannehill progress and provides comfort knowing we have a reliable option if something happens to Ryan like in the jets game last year.
Totally unexpected but great to have him back... Definition of a great teammate. Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
It'll probably be for a nice chunk of change to get him to give up his dreams of having a chance to start again. Probably $3 to $4 million a year? But having a solid backup QB is worth the money.
I'm really pretty pleasantly surprised, with teams trying to swing trades for Alex Smith you would have thought he could go out and get a starting job. I think it is a pretty good sign from a player relation standpoint.
As you well know, I'm a HUGE Ireland hater, but I have to give him props on this one. Moore is a good back up qb, and in this league, you never know what can happen.
Really glad Matt decided to stay, and they decided to keep him. Nothing like the security blanket of a great backup...especially if he continues to (seemingly) keep getting along well with Ryan!
Nice move by JI. Now hopefully he will be as proficient in signing other teams players when the time comes.
Excellent signing. When was the last time we actually had our #1, #2 and #3 QB's before the draft that folks were happy about?
Wow, I was not expecting this. This is great news. Matt Moore is a pretty valuable player to have on this team both on and off the field.
Great get. Surprised he didn't wait until after he tested the waters a little. I feel like our coaches have created a great atmosphere around here. Especially at the QB position. I heard Garrard say he wouldn't mind coming back to be a backup this year.
For the first time in many years we have stability at the QB position.Thats a big plus. Gerrard will have to plan his comeback on another team....probably the Jets.
Yah and the Ravens are screwed if they have to rely on Taylor. Yes I know who the Ravens backup QB is. Plus he was already making more then $2 million. He was signed at $2.5 million a year. To get him to give up his FA in a year where he's the #1 FA QB...doubtful we got a discount. Having a good solid backup is worth a few million easily.
That's because Flacco never got hurt. I assure you that if he had been hurt, and their back up bombed in the playoffs, you would know his name.
This is a very good thing. Dont be foolish. Continuity is important in Tannehill's development and Moore provides an excellent mentor and capable fill in.
Ok cool so Starks, Hartline and Moore are coming back. Now lets see if Sean Smith is willing to stop being so damn delusional.
And if he has to start cause Tanny goes down in an injury...people won't give a crap he's making $4 million.
4 mil per is a perfectly acceptable salary for a veteran backup. Especially one that has won some games for you in the past.
I think it is way way way way too early to say this is true. I personally don't think it's true at all....that being said, signing Moore again is a VERY good move.
