I'm level 11 or so (I had to start over after reaching lv. 14, not too big a deal, but a solid several hours regardless) and the only elemental weapons I'm finding (on both occasions) is fire for all guns. I am sure I will find others, but it seems all the weapon crates I'm finding are predominantly pistols, and only fire weapons are being found on my end at the moment.

level 32 getting ready to fight the warrior. the elemental and rare guns seem to kind of drop in stages. you won't get anything good for a while and then you get two or three nice ones in fairly quick order. obviously spending a lot of time playing. it is a blast all the way through.

The variety will expand fairly soon. It helps if you do the sidequests, and especially helps if you play with at least 2 other people (the loot improves as more people join the game).

Im going through the entire campaign with my brother who also picked it up. We vowed to do do the first play through together every step of the way, he doesn't play and advance unless I'm available and vice versa - easily hooking up via steam. It's pretty cool and fun. I'm commando and he's assassin. Second play through will be individual while joining each other hear and there since at that point we've already done all the missions. And, we do all the side missions possible, exploring every map as much as possible as well.

Nice to know it will open up soon.

Hit level 50 the other day with my Gunzerker. Just in time for today's DLC release. Anyone picking it up? I'm eager to play it and see if the level cap increases and how the new loot works.

I will be picking it up as I have the season pass. I don't think the cap is raised with this one though.

Hopefully they didn't nerf Terramorphous. Farming it is getting pretty entertaining.

How do you farm bosses? Just show up at the same location over and over after saving?

Also, don't you guys find it disappointing to have such limited inventory/storage space that you eventually you have to discard and leave green/blue/purple weapons for white weapons since the whites are at your level and are better than the rare weapons at lower levels? Don't really see how to avoid that, but disappointing nonetheless.

Kill it, then quit the game, saving in the process. Then reload the game.

Not really. Color indicates level of rarity, not level of quality. I have several blue weapons that are much better than most of the purple and even orange weapons in my inventory. I have a purple shield that's much better than an orange shield, too.

Yeah I know man...guess im getting attached to the low level rare weapons. :)

I found an orange legendary rpg rated at level 9 and now at level 22 im picking up rpgs much better than that.

If you're that attached, put it in your Claptrap storage for use with another character.

Just started playing with my colleagues. Blazing through the main quests. Are the side quests important, as in, do they affect the subsequent story, etc??????

The side quests don't affect the plot at all. They just give you access to more XP, money, and equipment.

Some of the side quests are a lot more fun than the main quests, and they make it easier to take on the main quests as you level up going through the sides.

Not just this, but there are a few areas that you would never go to during the course of the story, and the side quests there are pretty involved and entertaining. Examples: Lynchwood, Caustic Caverns.

Also, Tiny Tina. That is all.

What about it? If you're asking if it's good, the answer is yes. Though like all DLC, it feels a little out of place. But fighting Pirate Ninjas is pretty damn funny.

Sorry, let me rephrase that. I wanted to ask if the DLC adds any substantial playtime and missions to the main game.

It adds nothing to the main plot. It's a self-contained story. There's about 7 or 8 story missions and roughly 10-12 side missions, plus a few achievements and challenges. It'll keep you occupied enough to be worth the money, and the included superboss is a legitimate pain in the ***. I still haven't beaten him.

Recently i've been following Randy Pitchford (@DuvalMagic) and Gearbox Software (@GearboxSoftware) for Shift Codes for Golden Keys.

They tweeted an actual schedule for this weekends Shift Codes and I thought I'd give everyone a heads up. I personally will miss most of these, but you may or may not.

Honestly, the golden key loot isn't THAT great. The stuff you can get from Terramorphous and likely Hyperius is better.

Obviously I'm waaaaay late to this party.

Beat the first one, enjoyed it alot. Started with the Gunzerker, but after serveral hours, I just wasn't feeling it. Restarted with a commando, enjoying the game much more now. It will take me forever to beat the game because i'll play SOLO, so I've been trying to find a good solo build online, but haven't had much luck. I don't like to rely on my turrets to fight my battles for me, but I do use it in most encounters for support. Most builds I see are either build for double turrets or gun powder, no middle groun.
As for the game itself, fun fun fun. I am very anal when it comes to games like these, so I'll sit there and open EVERY BOX and complete EVERY SINGLE side quest lol
So far so good, and if anybody knows where I can get a heads up on a good solo build for Commando, much appreciated.

    Everything you need to know about the commando;

    http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/forumdisplay.php?f=149

And I used to love it, until I finished it on true vault hunter mode and started farming bosses. It is absolute BS that I can beat a boss for two hours and not get a f'n legendary drop.

FU Gearbox. 1% Drop Rates. And then they wonder why people are duping guns online and shh.

My main class is Gunzerker. It's tough to play through as a solo character, but man… if you get an Infinity pistol or two Conference Call shotguns, you theoretically have the highest damage output in the game. You can more or less become a self-regenerating badass bulldozer if you build the class up right.

The game is really meant to be played cooperatively with others though. Maybe convince your buddies to use their Christmas cash haul to pick the game up?

The thing is, my schedule is so hectic, I don't know when I'll get to play. Ive spen't like 6 hours in the past 2 days playing the game, and 6 hours during the whole week before. I don't play alot, as much as I'd like to, and the times I do play are unpredictable. Not to mention that on top of everything, most of my friends are either PC or 360 gamers.

I would be down on the right night I guess. I don't have any of the DLC though. I also haven't updated in months. Not sure what the changes are.

    Warrior farming?

What sucks about the game is I had to resort to finding saved games online with all the legendaries because I can't get them to drop when I farm. Example, I killed Bunk3r 100 times +/- and no b!tch drop. So, I run with a bee/conference call from one of my saved games. Those are the only two I took, although I am tempted to start pulling the infinity and a nice smg.

I can't beat warrior alone post bee patch either. Very frustrating. Guess I am not good enough but he always knocks me off the damned arena.

    EDIT: Lvl 50 Commando

Well hit 50 a while back still loving it....looks like "the Bee" is pretty much mandatory....farming warrior with somewhat crap weapons is time consuming ;). I would still love to get together with everyone especially some of you vets.

    PS I have the DLCs.

I started playing the game again, on LAN, with my subs. Turns out the game has become more difficult and I cant seem to find any of my favourite weapons from my first playthrough.

Well supposedly you need to get a CC on your "moonshot" warrior kill or it could take hundreds of kills to get one...I got fairly lucky with the Bee and a good ludmilla sniper I can kill the warrior in 3-4 mins.

It certainly seems like the drop rates are pretty low though.

One trick for the warrior that I use is to go off to the area on the left (the little Open stone house) and snipe him from there....he can't knock you into lava from that spot you just have to worry about crystalisks but your turret can block them off.
