So if everyone else posting against Hartline are armchair GMs, what are you? A couch GM, bean bag chair GM, or perhaps a foot stool GM?

Observers are supposed to be opinion-less or at least keep them to themselves, otherwise you're a commentator.

So is everyone else here. They have opinions. You have, and I have. For you to refer to anyone who expresses an opinion contrary to yours or what the team does as being armchair GMs seems rather silly. If anyone else is an armchair GM, then so are you.

Intelligent observation is step #1 in forming a rational approach to what is likely to happen.

Dolphins are not contenders for as long as hartline is signed dude is hot trash your going to need a superstar TE to cover how useless he is in the redzone. This move also cuts the value of wallace to the team we would have the worst red zone duo in the NFL I guess not much difference from last year. Jennings seems like he now becomes the better fit if the dolphins are looking for a FA wr.

Nope, two people can see the exact same thing happen, both have different take aways, the trained mind sees the whole picture the dull mind just think it is "shiny".

Such an intellectual approach to observation is in itself a judgment in the manner of approach to viewing events.

There's been a lot of dumb things said about Brian Hartline recently but I'm not sure you're going to top this.

And he would replace Hartline anyway. So Jennings does not work either.

You have got to get a bust the coverage guy. That person is not currently on the roster. Draft or Wallace.

it's a pretty terrible deal to give a guy 6 mil/yr when the only thing that kept him from finishing the year with zero TD's was a complete whiff by Arizona's secondary. there are other WRs available to sign that not only would've been cheaper but also would be as productive (if not more) if given all the opportunities that Hartline had. the only difference between Hartline and a Hixon or a Ogletree is opportunity.

let this sink in: Denario Alexander scored more TD's in 2 months than Hartline has scored in 60 games.

Good thing we didn't try to trade for Calvin Johnson. That worthless POS had only 5 TDs last year. Not worth the money he is making. Andre Johnson only had 4 TD. Another poor WR making stupid money. We should go after Miles Austin. He's better than both of those 2 because he had 6 TDs.

your point would make sense if the players you named didn't already have years and years of high level production. to have 6 TD's in 60 games is pretty pathetic.

Except for the fact that one of the core philosophies of the offensive system Miami runs is that one guy doesn't just run 3 routes, or in essence, one guy isn't just a deep threat, while the other guy is the intermediate guy. It's just like there is no #1 receiver in this philosophy, but fans keep referring to players as the #1 receiver, #2 receiver, and such. The #1 receiver is dictated by the coverage and whoever is open.

Then you get Hixon for half the amount to play opposite him and don't overpay for a one trick pony in Mike Wallace.

He's also never really been in an offense that was even above average? His QBs in the NFL have been Chad Henne and a rookie with very little starting experience, who the coaching staff admitted they handled conservatively.

If Hartline really does get 6 million a year then IMO this FA season has started off real bad. I like Hartline but if Ireland paid him this much money ? Well Jeff, I wish you well once the season ends.

You're basing all that "3 guys who can run any route" on Philbins tenure in GB. How do you know it wasn't introduced by Mike McCarthy? Just because Philbin is familiar with that doesn't mean he lives by it.

If he did than even the thought of bringing in Chad Johnson wouldn't have came up, his biggest knock was learning the playbook and yet he was a headbutt away from being on this team.

So that theory is just that, a theory.

It is a little more than I would like to spend.

However it could be a 4 year 24 million contract that is closer to a 3 year 14 million dollar contract.

Before we start hating on Ireland, we should make sure he deserves the hate.

If we add Jennings in FA and Wheaton in the draft the stretch the field we would have a very respectable wr Corp...relax people, we don't even know the numbers yet.

And say we resign Fasano and draft fauria to occupy the seam..

    That would give us

    Jennings
    Hartline
    Bess
    Wheaton
    Matthews
    Moore

    Fasano
    Clay
    Fauria

You ask me that would be a good group to work with and would totally be doable.

well clearly if he had Brady throwing him the ball he would become stronger, more physical and agile and we'd see him actually juke defenders, break tackles and get open deep without a double move or the defense completely forgetting about him
