Be glad you didn't. Generally you want your DT's to actually stop the run. Not high five them as they blow by you.
This is interesting. Teflon bids 12 mil on Vick. Ravens then come in and match his bid, not raise it. Then Teflon raises his initial bid a 100, and gets yelled at for not raising himself 250. Lmao
Bengals would like to welcome DT jay Ratliff. Should team very nicely with Atkins to provide an excellent pass rush all over the Dline
I find it interesting that Mikell is up to $7m... not one offer on him in trade with his existing cap of $9m.
so people don't even try to negotiate then? If that's the case, I'm not sure why I'm doing this... the way this is looking, both guys that I cut, who were overpaid are going to get more than what I cut them for.
one day people will realize that you're more than a jewish-asian accountant and will really rikey your prices... one day when a quarter is a quarter and not $65.
Nah I always was going to put a bid in but I had 5 locked up. The moment I won my first bid I used it on Guion.
same with jay Ratliff. only had two offers for Ratliff, one I would've taken but the other gm backed out of a 3 player trade. worked for me cause I get a better safety in Woodson as opposed to getting another safety with the same salary but not the same production.
depends what you mean by negotiate. Come down quick when you see the market isn't reflecting desires? Sure. Barter everyone to death so people get tired and bored? Not so much. I'm not saying you do either, by the way, I'm not sure we've ever really talked trades. I'm just saying that some people get really stuck on stupid when it comes to prices.
Seattle welcomes Knowshon Moreno for 1.4M. Moreno finally emerged as a viable NFL running back under Bronco coach John Fox last season. He will likely end up Seattle's back up with Bryce Brown being the change of pace back.
Hey if I get Webster back for $3 million it's all good. Except for last year Webster has ALWAYS been a positively rated PFF player. Meanwhile your bidding up a corner whose been negatively rated 4 of his last 5 years. If you grab Hall your best rated corner will be Patterson at 52nd (Tramon 61st, Carroll 67th, Hall 70th). You'd be paying around $20 million for that position. My depth at CB needs work...as they are all very young/unproven guys but I'm not done there yet. I think Webster can bounce back as a #2 CB instead of being matched on #1's. I can at least start Josh Wilson as #1 (34th CB...positively rated his entire career) and I'm paying just over $8 million...$11 million if Webster ends up at that figure. So LOL back ;p
If I did...I would never have traded for Chykie Brown, Mike Daniels, Cedric Thornton or signed Josh Morgan. I've got plenty of guys they rate negatively. Speaking of those 2 DT's. Still looking for a veteran DT with an alright cap hit to pair with those guys.
I'll update the salary page today it just takes forever to do... I didn't realize it'd be so much work going into this...
Will Smith was a good signing; I was hoping to get him for cheap but I am happy I traded for Cole. I think him and Wake are a nasty combination.
Curious were you going to keep bidding for Smith if you didn't get Cole? I'm really surprised I got Smith for his price. 2.6 M is nothing and considering the slim pickings that will be in FA really surprised.
The Jaguars added a big piece on the cheap, landing DL Ryan Pickett for $1,750,000. That's a quality lineman (50+ tackles last year) with experience playing NT and DE in the 3-4. With the back four already set, he's a nice step in the right direction to solidifying our front seven.
