Doesn't surprise me. Alex Smith has been pretty average or worse for his entire career. There is a reason he was replaced. While he may not lose you many games, he will not win many for you either. He's a bigger, faster, stronger, better version of Jay Fiedler. This was a terrible trade for KC. They should of drafted Geno Smith and developed him. What's SF cap situation look like? Can they afford Revis and all their F.A.? While this is a pipe dream I hope someone really spectacular falls to #12 and SF trades up with us and we get 31 and KC's second. Use 31 to draft Tank Carradine, start attacking some WR's, TE, CB, and OL with the next 5 picks.
Wow aren't you about to look silly, Dolphin12. Apparently you only like to look up stats and jump to ridiculous conclusions rather than actually watching games b/c you would've seen Alex Smith beat Drew Brees and the Saints 36-32 while San Fran's defense was amidst a complete 4th quarter MELT DOWN!! Smith had to win it for San Fran not once but TWICE inside the final 4 minutes and accounted for 4 TDs, 327 yards, and the game winning TD on 3rd down with 14 seconds to play! That was a f***ing brilliant performance, and you trying to say otherwise is pure ignorance. He also had 6 4th quarter comebacks in 2011, genius. Your attempt to say he sucks in the playoffs is laughable. He posted 6 TD, 0 INT, 565 yards, and a 101.0 passer rating, and the reason he didn't beat the Giants to make the Super Bowl was NOT b/c of himself, but you'd know that, too, if you actually watched the game. Here, let me fill you in: Kyle Williams (he plays for the red & gold team) muffed a 4th quarter punt that NY (the blue, white, and red team) turned into a TD and allowed the Giants to hit overtime. In overtime, Kyle Williams fumbled a punt inside FG range on the 24 to give NY the easy win. It's amusing how when San Fran wins you give all the credit to the team (and none to Smith) but when the team around Smith plays poorly and loses you suddenly throw the onus on the QB.
Alex Smith didn't really need to throw touchdowns with that offensive line and running back corp. Seriously, they have Gore, James, and a personal favorite of mine in Kendall Hunter.
I wonder if this trade is an indication of how Reid feels about the talent in this draft period, not just the qbs. Maybe this years picks are devalued and picks next year and players are of greater value.
Maybe you should take your own advice. Saying Smith didn't win them games is erroneous, and has been pointed out in the playoffs he played out of his mind when he led two 4th quarter comebacks. If thats not putting the team on your back, then what exactly is. If you wish to make a point, fine, but at least do a little research before hand.
i think kc was a perfect spot for alex smith. good running game, good coach, and with bowe coming back good wrs. kc does have a easy season coming up as well,so alex smith is in a good position Preferences
