Just wanted to take a poll to see what you all think as for number of 1st round QBs.

Crap i read the question wrong. I thought it was how many QBs SHOULD be drafted in the first round. Hence the 0.

As it is, i say 2 are drafted in the 1st round.

Matt Barkley and Geno Smith will go. I disagree (but don't feel strongly about it) with Mike Mayock's theory that history tells us someone will trade back up into the 1st round for a 3rd guy. I think historically that may be accurate, but this class does not support a 3rd quarterback going that high.

E.J. Manuel has the best chance of that, though.

    Desperation will make teams overdrafted.

Desperation wins. How man good men did we lose at last call at the bar to ugly women?

    Too many.....too many....

I agree Chris. I'm guessing Geno and Barkley are the only two who go in the 1st. I will not be a bit surprised if the Cards take Barkley 7th.

Those 3 were my thoughts as well.

    Smith
    Barkley
    Manuel

How 'bout KC taking Manuel #1. :shifty:

Hah. Not a chance. They're going the veteran route. If they can make something work with Nick Foles, they will. Maybe Matt Flynn. Possibly Alex Smith. One interesting thing I saw from Peter King recently is that he knows that Andy Reid would love to coach Matt Barkley. I could actually see that. But they won't do that at #1 overall. If they can convince someone to trade up with them...all bets are off there.

If Matt Barkley doesn't go to Arizona at #7 (I have my doubts about that) then he'll go to the Bills at #8, IMO. I think the Cards are trying to get the Bills to trade above them for Barkley, ensure that Geno Smith gets to them. Bruce Arians coached Andrew Luck but he coached Big Ben before that. Geno Smith's dual threat ability and strong arm make him closer to both players than Matt Barkley. And the guy who runs the Zona front office now was a member of the same Zona front office that seemed to adore physical characteristics in their quarterbacks (hence Ryan Lindley, John Skelton, Kevin Kolb) rather than smart, well coached savvy.

Doug Marrone is Matt Barkley all the way. I've already shown that. In September of 2012 prior to their game against each other (2nd game in 2 years) he openly gushed about Barkley and said he should have gone above Andrew Luck and RG3 if he'd only come out of school (which he said he wish he did, so he woudn't have to play him again). Sure enough in the 2 games they played one another Barkley threw 11 TDs and only 1 INT.

I think Smith and Barkley go before we pick at 12. It would not surprise me if another team trades up to the bottom of the first to make it 3.

I see Vegas is already releasing over/unders. This is interesting. Geno Smith's over/under is set at 10 and Matt Barkley's is as 33.5.

Either one for Geno Smith or three with two desperate teams trading back in for Barkley and one of Manuel, Glennon or Nassib.

I hope Chris is right and the Bills take Barkley so that we have him in our division.

I just suspect only Smith comes off of the board with a #1 pick.

I hope the Cards take him so the Bills cannot because I do not want him in our division. I hope the Bills take Glennon at some point. A nice statue in the pocket for Wake to tee off on.

Geno and Barkley in the top 10 and a team trades up for Glennon.

I second this. Would prefer Matt Barkley in the NFC if possible and seeing the Bills take Glennon would be perfect.

Would be even better if the Jets take Glennon.

I think you'll see Smith and Barkley going in the First Round. KC not taking Smith at #1 overall sets the stage for one or both of them to slide. The other QBs in the class aren't worth a First Round pick ... then again this is the same league that saw Blaine Gabbert, Jake Locker, and Christian Ponder all go in the Top 15.

Geno and EJ for sure. Barkley has a decent shot. I'll be optimistic and say 3.

With the rookie salary cap it makes sense to take a Qb, even if it is a bit of a reach, just to make sure you get the guy you want. Too many teams need a QB, look at Qbs like Ponder and Gabbert, both were reaches but with low salary cap numbers it isn't a huge risk anymore. I think 3 or more go.
