Lebron became serious the first time Kobe went hard at him, Kobe is an all time great...being beaten by him in a quarter of a meaningless game is nothing to be ashamed of.
Michael said that Lebron was the most dominant player in the world. He said he would take Kobe's career because of 5 vs. 1.
Lebron was never serious. He took shots that he has not taken in a Heat game all year. If he were serious, he would have not chucked 30 footers all night.
Water is wet. Sky is blue. Jordan is a genius for stating the obvious. But Lebron gets 2 more..and Kobe goes in the trash bin.
How convenient. LOL. And I'm talking about the final quarter where Kobe deserves credit for the great defense he played on Lebron.
It is the truth. watch a game. You don't shoot his percentages shooting all those ridiculous shots. It was only "good defense" because one guy was loafing. REMEMBER, they played twice this year. How was his defense then?
he feels threatened. A 50 year old dope that can't let go, while everybody lines up to kiss his ***. It's sad, really.
I doubt he was ever even guarding Lebron one on one, but beating L.A. this year hasn't been real hard for many teams.
BTW, his two games vs. the Lakers this year, when Kobe had a chance to show his "great defense": 39 - 7 - 8 on 68% shooting 32 - 7 - 4 on 67% shooting
actually he did, but they took him off of him, and put him on Wade..and then Wade ripped him a new *******. Wade: 27 - 4 - 5 on 55% shooting 30 - 2 - 5 on 67% shooting Let me guess...Kobe was guarding Mario Chalmers?
It's funny, because you can make the argument that the blocks don't mean anything in an exhibition game (they don't), but there is an awful lot of time and effort by Heat fans and Kobe haters to dismiss it, despite not much coming from Lakers and Kobe fans. Which tells me in part, that LeBron's fans are more irked about it then their comments would have you believe. It's an NBA All-Star game. The only thing more worthless in professional sports is the Pro Bowl. In other words, get over it. LeBron got blocked hard while driving to the hole...twice. Not the first time, won't be the last. To disparage Kobe and his career along with arguably the greatest of all time in MJ for telling us a scouting report most already know is foolish and laughable and reminds me that the so called gurus on this, and other boards, are simply fans looking to root for their guys. No different than if you were to scroll up to the main forums here and read a few threads. It was a meaningless game. Shut up about it already. Let Kobe have his blocks and give him credit for his five rings. I can't understand why Heat fans are so bent over it. They don't concern the Heat at all.
You completely missed the point. it's a character flaw. I am pointing it out. That he is propped up by ESPN makes it worse. I first disliked Kobe when he turned snitch on SHAQ. He then pulled his BS vs. the Suns in game 7 in the 05-06 playoffs. I was done then.
and for the record, you all know where I stand..I think Kobe is the 2nd best SG of all-time with Wade nipping at his heels.
I don't consider Kobe to be that great of a media guy. I have never met the man personally to judge him with any real validity. I will say that my opinion of him in terms of how he comes off is that he is an *******, just like MJ. Which is part of the problem, it is clear that he patterned his game after Michael, it seems a shame that he seems to pattern his personality after him too. But maybe that is what makes those two guys great. Shaq is a fake P.O.S. and to be honest, is one of the worst teammates, "friends," and people the sport has ever seen. And I said the same thing when he played for L.A. Amazing player who deserves his accolades, but I shed no tear for Shaq on Kobe's behalf. That guy did so many ****ed up things to Kobe and other teammates that I am firmly in the camp that he gets every bad piece of news that comes his way, whether Kobe or whoever breaks the guy code or not. As for Game 7...didn't LeBron pretty much do the same thing? Do you kill Pippen for sitting himself out since he wasn't getting the last shot? Gilbert Arenas pulled the same deal with the Warriors when someone said he was shooting too much. It doesn't make it right, but plenty have done it, including the league's current golden boy who can do no wrong, Lebron. And I don't think Wade is anywhere near Kobe personally and I happen to like Wade. I just can't put him as nipping at his heels on the all-time list.
Really? And Wade nipping at Kobe's heels is just not true. I know you have heard of Jerry West right? Wade and Iverson Gervin all make cases for the top 5 but that's not nipping IMO
Lebron never dogged it in a game 7. So nope. the one game he was accused of dogging was a game 5. He then returned with a massive triple double in the next game. And you REALLY have to pay attention. Dwyane Wade is not only nipping at his heels, but is ready to surpass him int he near future. He has had a better career statistically (FACT), and his hardware is accumulating. He gets two more for 4 total, while keeping his current efficiency, and good bye Kobe..hello to 3rd on the alltime list Mr. Bryant.
I don;t include West, because I am talking modern era. and yes..it has been demonstrated. Kobe just has a better PR department than Wade. He sure isn't better than him at basketball. Don;t forget....Kobe took damn near the same exact supporting cast that Wade took to the second round..and ran it into the ground.
How do you argue with this Samphin? I know that Kobe is a hero of your favorite team, but you have to recognize when somebody is better than him. I recognized when Peyton, etc..were better than Marino. Time for you to do the same.
And when you thought Heat hating had gone out of style, Jason Whitlock put down the ham hock, realized he had a deadline and put this piece of brilliance together. http://msn.foxsports.com/nba/story/...indiana-pacers-paul-george-true-threat-021913 Apaprently this man (and the rest of the dim bulbs in the media) missed that the only reason the Pacers got up 2-1 on the Heat last year was beause Bosh was hurt. Every year it's something. The Bull, the Celtics, now the Knicks and Pacers. And come May and June they'll be taught their lesson again, but they still won't learn.
Atlanta would be better off losing smith for nothing than taking back amare's albatross contract. Why does NYK want Smith anyway? Just another guy who would eat into 'Melo's time at the 4 where he's been most effective and causes the most matchup problems
Two things....amare fits well as a 5 on offense which he'd be able to do in atl. Horford helps cover a lot of defensive weaknesses. Putting melo next to Smith and Tyson would make the nyk d very good and very versatile. Doesn't solves their secondary scoring woes any more then amare did but definitely makes them better. If nyk can swing that next move should be calling Sacramento about tyreke evans
I think Atlanta is in cap clearing mode though. Maybe they think Howard is still a possibility. Sacramento is in a state of paralysis. They aren't trading anybody.
Per Woj: Nets trying to acquire Paul Pierce. Proposed humphries/Brooks/1st rounder. Celts so far not interested but could be tempted if deal expands to include Teletovic and a second first rounder. Seriosuly, can anybody explain what the Nets thought process is? Is Billy King just looking at NBA2K ratings and calling up other GMs? First, they wanted to become HawksNorth, now they want to take on Pierce, while still paying Gerald Wallace.
I think the Nets thinking can be summed thusly, "Please God let someone take Hunpries contract off our hands. We'll take anything."
The problem for atlanta is if they try and clear cap its already been speculated that jeff teague is ready to bolt to Dallas. They stand to lose more then just josh Smith.
Problem is the knicks need more d and scoring and this would definitely help with the defense part and he fits next to melo much better then stat
