Yea, I read this in the book Perfect Season: Inside the Miamis Dolphins 1972 season by Mike Freeman. I recommend it to everyone here. They were apparently good friends before he became president. He got calls before the game and he told Shula to throw the ball to Warfield on a certain route.

I actually said this before I read the link. Then I see HST refer to him as scum too, so I'm in good company. I was actually thinking good riddance to bad rubbish when I heard he died, and then they show his funeral on TV, and you see teen age girls who couldn't have been more than infants when he was in office, crying their eyes out as his procession passed. Go figure. I would not be one bit surprised if he had a hand in the murder of JFK.

I've heard those sour grapes whines from the Republicans but have not seen any substantiated actual proof.
I'm not a Nixon fan and years ago gave up on the Rep. party; but if there were ever sour grapes whining it would be the accusation of Nixon having a hand in Kennedy's murder! The reality is, all those politicians were dirty, unethical, cheats, they'd do what they could to win if they could get away with it. And, many of them would be today, there's just more scrutiny so they behave better. But, they are still unethical in their debates and their discussions. Pelosi & Reid are right there with the worst of the R's today, and many of those R's are pretty bad. ----- As to the topic, Love the, "Send him on the down and in pattern" - love it.

It is pretty much common knowledge. Whoever had union ties and union backing then, stole precincts where there was a large union vote. Old man Kennedy stole it fair and square.
