I think they wised up after Sparano, though.

What is a realistic asking price for one of the top corners with an expiring contract?

Makes tons of money, was hurt last year, his stunt threatening to hold out a year after signing a deal probably hasn't been forgotten. Sorry but I don't want Revis at any sort of price the Jest would ask, he's not worth it anymore. A few years back maybe but after a major injury at his salary? He's not worth it, sorry.

"Several team sources are claiming the Jets want a first- and second-round pick for Revis". Last year this would be more reasonable this year it is way overpriced. However i believe the jets know that and that is why they announced it so early. They will only get close to that if they create a frenzy for him and lets face it his upside will have some teams considering just how much they will give up.

Revis is also said to want a contract in the neighborhood of $16 mil per with guaranteed money north of 50 million.

They're already way over the cap and will have to cut a number of guys. Besides, Long is a free agent and the Jets don't need him. They have Ferguson.

That is surprising. At the end of the day, the draft is still a crapshoot. If you're already going to take a risk for someone in the first round, I'm not sure why it would be ridiculous to pay an extra 2nd for a proven player. I'd gladly give up the two picks for AJ Green, especially since they already have an extra 2nd.

Every time the Jets play I hope for an asteroid to hit the stadium. That way not only do you get the WHOLE team, you get a bunch of their die hard fans.
