Former Dolphins quarterback bust Pat White, a second-team All-American as a high-school baseball player, told WMEN-640's Orlando Alzugaray on Thursday that he has an offer from the Marlins to attend minor-league camp but has neither accepted nor rejected it. White told reporters at the Senior Bowl that he wants another NFL shot, but feels strongly about playing quarterback. Had he not been a high Dolphin draft pick maybe Ireland would consider him an Acorn. What do you think. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/sports-buzz/
I think Pat White is an egotistical, heartless, wannabe. No thanks, a player wants to play, no matter what they have that fire, his died and has been dead for awhile.
In other news jamarcus-russell wants a come back too. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-s...l-attempting-nfl-comeback-043914730--nfl.html Its funny how these comebacks coincide with running out of money.
White should drag his butt to the CFL, or AFL, or wherever, and work for peanuts and take the hits and show what he is made of. This sort of "I want back in" Ended when he cleared waivers back in the day, no more free passes Mr White go out and earn your stripes, then come knocking, or better said the scouts will come looking for you, otherwise this as absurd as "Spinal Tap is getting back together".
What's funny is he says he's learned his lesson, yet he still only will play QB. This is a guy who got cut by a UFL team. Also funny is in an Omar article he says he's "willing" to come back to the Dolphins. Of course he is. He'd go anywhere.
I loved him at WVU. He just cant play at this level. I thought that hit you are referencing killed him. I honestly thought he was dead.
Why does he have to play quarterback? He isn't going to get more accurate. Seems as though he's in denial of just how monumental a bust he was. That hit must have really addled him. If he's not just flapping his gums and really wants to play professional football, he should get whatever job he can at whatever level he can, and work his way back if he can.
Exactly, saying that to me, sort of smacks of "I'm entitled' mentality. He really does need to show his chops at whatever level he can make it on the field, otherwise no one is going to take a shot on him even with the read option coming into vogue.
He has probably seen what Russel Wilson has done this season and thinks he can perform at the same level if he applies himself. If he is serious about it then like Pads said he needs to take his behind up to Canada for a couple of seasons and prove it.
He and Russell Wilson are built totally different. Wilson is stocky, White is thin. I am a big WVU fan, but I hated us drafting Pat White. Plus Wilson is a good pocket passer, White could throw the ball down the field, but was not an accurate QB.
If Wilson's success was indeed an influence on White wanting to get back into football, then I am pretty sure their stature and proficiency differences are completely irrelevant to Pat
Oh no, physically he can play in the NFL, but to do so at his size you have to have a heart of a lion. White does not have that, I studied "how" Derek "Cam" Wake made it back to the NFL and it was simply this: -cut out all distractions -work insanely hard -Have "want to" White has none of these, or at least up until now, he has shown none of them. He was on a couple of CFL team's "negotiation" list, meaning the team had the right to try and sign him, meaning there was interest in him, he never sniffed that league even with a game suited to his talents. That tells me he wants stuff handed to him. Go RE-Earn your spurs Mr White, then this won't look as silly as it does now. Edmonton, Calgary, maybe Hamilton, have Qb openings, or potential openings, go do the work. Ditto Russell, whom I like more than White as his size is just intriguing, but dumb-dumb had a shot in Montreal and he passed, the Al's HC is now the Bears HC..gosh there Je'marcus, if you had taken that opportunity..guess who will be in the market for a back up Qb? This is why imo, players out of the league really should take offers to play no matter where they come from because you never know how things will turn out.
