Too late. We ditched the passing game when we fired Cameron. Our offense will be summed up in two words: "run left."
Absolutely wrong, BP has shown many times he is not afraid to pass the ball. He had Bledsoe throwing the ball on 60% of the plays in New England during his 2nd year. Parcells know as well as any coach in the NFL that the running game won't work unless you have a vertical passing game to keep the D from stacking the line against the run.
Not to cut you down here PhinsRock but BP isn't our coach, it's Fat Tony Sparano. I think we will run and run and run this year, because it's our best chance at winning.
Todd Haley was responsible for the passing game in 2006. Sparano was responsible only for the ground game. In 2007, since Haley left for Arizona, Jason Garrett coordinated the passing game. So Sparano isn't responsible for being ranked 5th in passing yards, he's responsible for Julius Jones stealing snaps from Marion Barber.
What idea exactly do you have of what Haley actually did? Sparano called the plays in 2006. Haley was a glorified WR coach, whose job was to help bridge the gap between the QB and receivers in the passing game that an OC traditionally does.
Not only that, but Sporano knew the Dallas personnel better than Garrent did and when we were hiring Sporano, it was widely reported that Sparano has been the main coordinator with that offense, just not title wise.
Haley was credited as the passing game coordinator of the 2006 Dallas Cowboys. Sparano called the plays, yes, but he didn't have any control over what the passing game consisted of. The same setup persisted in 2007 with Jason Garrett, except that Garrett used the passing plays of the Coryell playbook.
