-Since Sect is taking the negative, I'll look at the positive:

-Found a Qb, up and and down but he will be Miami a long time
    -Martin+Garner proved capable
-Marcus Thigpen was a nice find
    -Joe Philbin can coach
    -Hartline cracked 1k yds
-Lamar Miller looks like Willis McGahee jr only faster

    Feel free to add.

    Relax on Garner......

Add Reshad Jones...the teams' second best defensive player.

Garner is a backup at best.

    Reshad Jones is a beast
Best Red Zone defense in the NFL.
Defensive line is good and deep.

I'm also not down on Clemons like a lot others are. I think he's good enough to be a starter. He's inconsistent but he's not terrible by any means.

Thing with the Jest is you could see it coming.

Reshad Jones did emerge into a playmaking safety.

I called the Jests disaster three years ago....I said it then and ill say it now.. Id rather have what we have In Miami VS what they are doing with the Jests spending draft picks for troubled vets is only going to get you older and a lot less deep.

Tannehill looks like he may be a keeper (regardless of what AdamC13 says).
Miller looks like he could play.
Matthews looks like a intersting prospect as a receiver.
Harline showed that he is a good receiver.
Jones is a future pro bowler.
    Martin played decently.
    Pouncey is a ****en.animal.
    We found our kick returners.
Philbin has a plan and he did well all things considered.

    According to PFF...
    2012- BH 860 snaps, DB 760 snaps...
    2011- BH 709 snaps, DB 563 snaps...
    2010- BH 612 snaps, DB 679 snaps...
    2009- BH 408 snaps, DB 582 snaps...

    On to the OP...

We found out our front 7 can play in the 4-3 scheme... There were questions on that they did not have the size earleir in the Off Season...

The Beast is still the beast and if we ever get someone to compliment him on the other side he will probably be even better.
Tannehill is special and can get much better with the right circumstances.
The Draft and free agency is going to be a real exciting time this coming year.
I respect Philbin probably about as well as any coach we've had since Don Shula.

I almost forgot, its been a long time since the Jim Langer and Dwight Stevenson days. Is Pouncy the next great Offensive Center since those two perennial Pro Bowlers?

-I think the jury is still out on Tannehill, but he does look like the fourth best QB taken in the 2012 draft.
-Martin and Garner played terrible yesterday. I don't see Garner being the answer on the offensive line and I think Martin is still a huge question mark.
-I agree Thigpen was a good pickup.
-The team this year scored less point on offense and gave up more points on defense than it did in 2011. If Sparano was still the HC, everyone would be calling for his firing if the Dolphins played the way they did under Philbin. I have absolutely no idea if Philbin is the long term answer at the HC position. We shall see next year.
-Hartline had a good year but he isn't worth the $6 million dollars some people on here want to see him paid. He scored one TD the entire season. If he is willing to sign for 2-3 million dollars a year, the Dolphins should try and sign him. If he is looking to be paid as a top tier WR in the NFL, I hope he likes his new team next year.
-Miller is a good chance of pace back, but I don't see him being durable enough to be the Dolphins main running back. Thomas can't stay healthy and I think Bush will leave for a better contract elsewhere. So a quality starting RB is a need for this team.

New offense, new defense, rookie qb is not equal to what happened in Sparano's last year.
Also I would wait another year or two before saying that Tannehill is the best or worst of the Qbs picked.

Miller is 215 and likely to grow over the next couple of years

Rook Qb mostly for lack of points.

Otherwise we are what, the 2nd youngest team in the league?

The Colts, Seahawks, and Redskins, all had rookie QB's yet they are in the playoffs. The Colts in fact has a replacement HC for the majority of the year. Using the fact that Tannehill was a rookie and it was a new coaching staff is merely another excuse for them once again finishing below 500.

Of all the rookie QB's Tannehill actually had the advantage of playing in the same offense he ran in college. None of the other rookie QB's had this advantage. I have no idea if Tannehill is the long term answer for the Dolphins. I certainly hope he is. Right now though, Luck, RG3, and Wilson are better NFL QB's than Tannehill. This may change over the next few years, but I can only go by what I have seen on the field and how effective these other QB's were in leading their teams to the playoffs.

    My list

1). Ryan Tannehill - considering this is the first real investment our franchise has made into a QB since Marino, how can you not be excited? He played better than I expected for a QB with a year and a half of QBing experience. The transition from WR to QB to NFL QB has been impressive. more experience, and more talent (hopefully) make Marinohill a runaway positive.

2). Coaches - not just Philbin, but our whole staff. I don't want to crown them yet, but its looking promising. When Philbin gets an entire roster of "his" guys, I look forward to seeing what they all do.

3). Rookies/young guys - Jones, odrick, miller, etc... We have a bunch of young guys playing pretty well. Hopefully they all continue evolving. Considering our coaching, there careers are promising. Hopefully guys like Egnew step up next year. Also want to see RB Gray next year. bush (hopefully), miller, and gray would make a nice tandem. It will be nice having a reliable power back. Some of the late additions seem interesting too.

    4. Martin seems fine at LT, giving us flexibility with Long. If a decent contract isn't in the cards, hopefully a franchise and trade is. Mike Wallace for Jake would be a pleasant surprise.

    5. Cam Wake - might be the only legitimate stud on the roster. Played above and beyond all year. Should've drawn 30 plus holding calls. Guy is unblockable.

    6. Coaches finally figured out how to Reggie Bush. Guy was our only playmaker all year. Gotta give him his due.

Clemons wouldn't be a priority to upgrade for me either. We can win with our safety combo, if we upgrade the corners. Maybe use a 2nd round pick on a cornerback, for one thing.

Ryan has proven if you give him some pieces that he can field a very tough defense. I just hope the Jets don't hire CamCam as their next OC.

Biggest positive for me is that Philbin has a presumed 'plan' ... and that this offseason should go a long way into making it come to fruition ...

we, of course, have some players that don't fit his 'style', some don't have character, and some do not have a 'football IQ'

    - Tannehill has the ability to be the franchise leader ... especially when he uses his athletic ability to extend and create plays.
    - Martin looks like he can handle LT ... especially with a good offseason weight program
    - Pouncey should end up in man Pro Bowls
    - Jones looks like a keeper at SS
    - Wake is simply Wake ...
    - Miller looks like he has the ability to be a solid RB ... add to that the addition of Gray (if he is healthy, we are in a good position) ... forget Thomas and Bush
    - Hartline and Bess continue to be solid, yet unspectacular ... add 2 more to the mix and we'll have something at WR.
    - Fasano is solid, yet unspectacular .... have a few choices to upgrade and have Egnew and Miller ...
    - Thigpen looks to be a solid returner ...
    - Dansby, Burnett and Misi are solid ... not playmakers
    - Soliai can be an impact player 'at times' ... but not at 355 ...
    - Fields is very good ...
    - Vernon showed some flashes ...

we do indeed have a decent base ... and this offseason will go a long way in determining the future of this team over the next 3-5 years.

    - 3 quality FAs and a 2d successful draft (I consider last years draft pretty successful) .... and we'll have a pretty good run.

a few thoughts as i look at the Packers Roster .... no WR under 6'0" (well one - Jennings at 5'11') .... all DEs are near 300 lbs (does not bode well for those of us looking for a pass rushing DE) ... less a couple RBs - NO short players (all 5'11' or better) ... NO fat OL (less than 320)

Sure it is. Your second "positive" was that two o/linemen turned out to be "capable". That's a low threshold.

Though you rarely woo-hood false start

You had the power to block your man
    while others fell apart

They beat you with the swim move
    and whispered in your brain

They beat you with a bull rush
they made you change your lane

and it seems to me that your play declined
like a candle in the wind

never knowing who to cling to
