I would like to have him here, if it can be worked out. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.aspx?sport=NFL&hl=117072
If Taylor gets traded it I would rather it be for a player like Sheppard than a third round pick. What would you guys give up in a trade (not including JT) for Sheppard?
Aside from trading JT, I'm not sure there's a good match with the Eagles. Sheppard's probably worth a second rounder, at least, and I don't think we're in a position to move draft picks right now. JT for Sheppard makes plenty of sense for both sides, though.
i would be very happy if sheppard came to play with us. Our D would actually look pretty good on paper at least.
Only thing I don't like about Sheppard is that he's missed a lot of time. He hasn't played 16 games since 2003. Has missed 14 games the last three seasons. Parcells tends to not like guys that can't stay on the field.
i was gonna post this earlier, but it says in the actual article the agent met with us back in april, so i felt it was kinda irrelevant at this point, even with the lehan stuff you never know though
What's up, Yoda? If Sheppard really is on the block, and he's not generating any interest, maybe we can acquire him for some decent value. JT for Sheppard straight up is still a solid trade in my eyes.
I actually think Oakland has the best secondary in the NFL. At worst, it's the best in the AFC. Unfortunately for them, their divisional rivals feature LaDainian Tomlinson, Larry Johnson, and that wacky Denver zone running plug-and-play scheme.
Yeah , it is kind of weird. Most teams draft according to the teams they play. You would think that the Raiders would draft run stopping Ends and Dt's. Back in the 80's we tied the whole of the AFC up with DB's due to Dan Marino. People never talk about this, but Dan Marino probably made the AFC CB's the best ever. You look back through our Divisional rivals, and I bet they drafted with Dan in mind, rather than what Defense they would rather play?
Ok this is too funny.. JT is a Master Jedi Shepard is a Padwan i.e Jedi in training........ nuff said
Right, but the point is that they're all run-oriented teams, or at least teams that can run the ball when called for. You stop the run at the defensive line, not in the secondary. So while Oakland has a fantastic secondary, they really needed Glenn Dorsey to shore up the front seven more than they needed McFadden to run the ball. (Why would you take Michael Bush in an attempt to get a franchise RB at a bargain price, then overpay McFadden the next year? Whatever.) I'm just saying, Oakland's going to lose a lot of divisional games because they're going to get run on.
No, no, don't get me wrong. I'm just saying that I think Oakland's secondary is going to waste in that division. If the other 3 teams relied on passing, then Oakland would just kill them. We're on the same page here, don't worry.
One of those rare occasions where I completely agree with you. I thought it would be impossible that they would pass on Dorsey for McFadden. In their division, they will twice face LT, LJ, and whoever Denver decides to put behind their chop-blocking, RB-making offensive line. I still cannot believe that they would pass on a monster DT like Glenn Dorsey, but that's Al Davis for you. Monumentally stupid, if you ask me.
Me too, I guess this means we're either on this site too much or watch too many movies ?? Seriously though, I'd love this trade even tho, supposedly, Lehan's injury isn't season ending...Especially with some uncertainty surrounding Will Allen. I doubt the Iggles do a JT for Lito trade tho...we'd have to give them something else...
