Sounds like JMart believes he is a natural LT.

He comes at just the right time...

Combination of Justin Smith and Aldon Smith will surely giv Jon the test he desires.

Jonathan Martin really dominated Rob Ninkovich in that game when he came over to the left side for Jake Long. Ninkovich couldn't get anything on him in pass rush. Not that Ninkovich is a good pass rusher.

However, that ended when the Patriots called an audible around the 3rd/4th quarter and switched Trevor Scott to rushing over top of Jonathan Martin. Martin had a LOT more trouble with Scott (who got a sack on Martin).

That doesn't bode well for how he'll do against Justin Smith and Aldon Smith.

But even so, Nate Garner might be the guy to watch for blowing the block that loses the game.

Id be surprised if this ends well for us. Tannehill is already on a bum knee, which is apparent since it seems he's still wearing a brace on it from the Jets game earlier this season. I hope Martin does well, I just dont see this working well for us. Even if by some miracle Martin does well, I dont see Garner, or whatever other 3rd or 4th stringer we trot out there doing well.

I beleive he does an OK job against a good D this Sunday. Not saying he will dominate or anything like that but I don't think he will be in way over his head like many seem to feel is a sure thing. The Dolphins will have plenty of tough players to deal with this week on both sides of the ball.

Well he doesn't have Andrew luck bailing him out, Luck instinctually moves up in the pocket to create new lanes, which saved Martins *** a ton in college..

I wanna find out what were dealing with so I'm good with the matchup.

    I think he does fine.

Bigger problem is out G-C-G trio, especially Incognito.

    Great.

Henning and Sparano style two people running short curl patterns and everyone else in to block.

Maybe we'll be treated to a shotgun play action fake on 3rd and 18 with only one receiver running a route.

    This.

Tannehill must climb the pocket Sunday.

Which means Incognito-Pouncey-Jerry cannot allow penetration or even get pushed back.

Not sure how you feel a rookie who is so-so will do fine against the man who has more sacks in his first 27 games than anyone in the history of the game.

    How's that work?

i think he'll do 'ok' ... considering he has been challenged with changing everything he's done the majority of his football career -- and we've seen how that has been a struggle for him.

i think he will improve over the course of the rest of the season, but he will need the offseason to get stronger and fully prepared to take on LT next year. i absolutely believe he will be fine by next year.

You expect Long to leave, then? I do.

My thoughts exactly...I'd probably shart a little if I saw either Smith coming for my head.

At this point, if he acquits himself as a top 15 LT, I'll take him as a starter going forward. The sheer amount of money saved with him at LT and a probably top tier rookie RT starting would make for an enticing offseason.
