I like the logo and the helmet design a lot. That stripe is some cyborg lookin ****, which is cool with me. That is by FAR the best logo I've seen. Someone should mail this into the Dolphins facility.

The uniforms are still a dud however.

Anything is better than a dark color... dark colors just go against the appeal of the teams uni's.... We'd sell more with Black than Navy anyway... But this mock depicts Navy as a primary color and Aqua as the secondary. Too much for me.... I can accept that NAvy will still be in the mix, but it just doesn't look good anywhere on the uniform in my eyes.

Gotta say, the royal blue with aqua and orange is Electric. That would rival Seattle's Lime Green as an alternate/trim color.

That is not Aqua. The primary color looks more to me like the so called Columbia Blue that that old Houston Oilers jerseys had.

 

That really makes sense. Their nickname, Cardinal, is a color, not a bird. The color Cardinal is of course a shade of red, so hey, let's wear all black.

When I was a kid, Stanford were the Indians. Then they decided to become the first school to become politically correct, and do away with that nickname, of their own volition, out of respect to native Americans. So they get a new logo, a tree, and decide to have a color for their nickname, which really goes together.

Other than BYU, there is no college team I like to see lose more than Stanford.

 

New Jersey is now in Buffalo? How did that happen? Hurricane Sandy moved the state that far?

 

Me too. I want mid 70s throwbacks, gawddammit, and won't be happy with anything else. Seems most folks want some XFL/Arena League/Spaceman looking crap, so that is probably what it is gonna be. So, I'll just grit my teeth and bear it.

I love our logo as is.
If they changed I'd support going back to the throwback logo.
Not a fan of the one in the thread. Don't hate it but its a step down not a step up.

 

I'm going to have to buy enough hats and jerseys with the current logo to last well into the future cause I aint buying the new one if this one is it.

 

Reverse the grey and aqua and it would be better but i still want the 70's logo back

that looks like that color Clean has when he posts that old sports illustrated cover from the sixties I believe, it's the best uniform ever.

 

yea, fu** Stanford for changing their name. How dare they not keep the name of culture that was not only nearly wiped out but a lot of them are still here.

I don't fault them for being PC if that is their thing. I don't see how calling themselves the Indians ever denigrated native Americans. Had they remained the Stanford Indians, they'd have been complete jerks, according to you? I guess to you, the Cleveland Indians, Washington Redskins, FSU Seminoles, etc are all complete jerks.
Heck, native American Jim Plunkett was their QB while they were still the Stanford Indians.
Seems kind of silly to me though to call themselves the Stanford Cardinal, but have a tree as their symbol. I guess I don't see the connection. Then wearing all black besides. I also do not get the connection of being a color as one's nickname, then wear uniforms of a different color. It makes as much sense as Alabama Crimson Tide wearing green uniforms. I guess Stanford thought all black would make them be more badass.
The name change also has nothing to do with why I like to see them lose more than any team but BYU.

 

I like the navy... It really contrasts the colors aqua and orange nicely. Without it, the logo looks much, much worse.

EDIT: Can someone throw the helmet on the logo? I've always liked it and I want to see what it would look like with this mock up.

 

Yep, it's time for the new age to take hold and move this team into the future. How many teams do you see going retro (not including throwbacks for some games?) It's just not going to happen.

And this is by far the best mock helmet I've seen by a long shot. Whoever created it managed to make the Dolphin look aggressive and not overly cartoonish. My favorite part is still the stripe on the top of the helmet though. That **** is fierce looking.

 

I like everything except the numbers. They just look off. The orange numbers on the aqua jersey are too much. Change the font and the color to white, it will be a huge improvement!

Just like the OP this is the best attempt I've seen of a new logo. I'm curious what it would look like if you replace the navy with the darker aqua we currently wear and then replace the darker aqua with the older lighter one. I think this would give it a bit of an old school feel while still maintaining the depth that the navy brings to the table.

 

This color is closer to what it used to be than the ones they have now!



And I like this jersey a lot better than what they have now,or what they have planned.

 

I wonder how it would look if you added the secondary rays on the sun? That would make for a pretty cool retro effect.

I am not a fan of the top one, however I do like the bottom one. I like the OP one better though.

 

That top helmet is terrible. The second? I can see a certain 'minimalistic' appeal, but I can't escape the feeling it was stolen from the brochure for a cruise ship company.

Although, it has NO TAIL, so I guess it does symbolize the struggles of this team over the last 10+ years....

 

This one is okay if you make the logo smaller and add the sun ring around it.

 

Make the logo "letter" centric....have the alternate logo have the dolphin on it.

 

Out of the teams that have recently changed their look, the Niners and Bills are two that have gone retro. Seattle was the one that didn't. In addition, the Broncos went back to Orange as their primary color and the Redskins brought back their yellow road pants.

If anything, you could say there's a slight trend towards going retro. As Mike Dee has said, the logo will have elements of the old combined with an updated look. I'd imagine the uniforms won't stray far from that also.

Teams like the Chiefs, Raiders, Browns, Packers and Bears wear basically the exact same uniforms they wore in the 60s.

 

I agree! That is actual Aqua! If we went back to that same uniform, even the same facemasks, I'd be happy.
