Of all the logo and uniforms mocks out there....

It's less about the logo and more about the overall look of the uni as a whole. It does too much screaming of "Hey look at me! Look at me!" and not enough of "We do our talking on the field".

 

Nice, but I still feel differently. I feel if there is anything that is drawing my eye from the actual colors it is the huge white gap in the Dolphin.

 

I find the logo to be very subtle.

Other than the weird number font, I don't see how the uni says, "Look at me!"

 

Get rid of the navy, change the number styling (too Denver Broncos for me), remove orange numbers and the lines in the numbers, and throw in some aqua pants on the home unis and I'm sold.

 

Nothing wrong with feeling differently my friend. I was more referring to jersey itself. I don't mind it on the dolphin, and I do think it adds depth there, but there's a part of me that feels if the navy is removed from the uniform (as it should) then it should be removed completely, but I'd be fine with compromising about the logo.

I understand where you're coming from on this. I've never paid much mind to logos & uniforms of other sports teams and after giving it some thought I think you're right.

Unrelated, but I remember seeing a vintage-inspired logo a while back on here and was curious if anybody had access to it? It was a simple cursive 'M' with the sun around it.

 

I don't have a problem with the logo.

However with the uniform:
the color intensity seems exaggerated, almost headachey.
the numbers are too busy and with a terrible font. Plus they're orange on an aqua background rather than the neutral white.
It's too convoluted with logos scattered everywhere, made worse with a busy stripe down the helmet that looks like a part of the Eiffel Tower.

There's just too much going on that it becomes distracting. If you wanna change/improve the logo to something you're proud of and drawn to, then you shouldn't clutter the uniform with too much crap that distracts the eye, as the helmet logo should be the focal point of entire uniform with the nameplate, numbers, NFL shield, and secondary team logo <Dolphins> below the NFL shield on the neck all serving to compliment. The rest should be subtle & seamless. Nothing should distract from the logo, the player's name, and his jersey number.

 

I'm just more of a vintage kind of guy when it comes to sports uniforms b/c they never really become outdated (or dated) if they keep to tradition. We wouldn't have to worry about our current dilemma where most of us can't stand the cartoony-looking dolphin & navy letter/number shading despite some of us probably not minding it when it first occurred. IMO the less you change things uniform-wise the less you have to worry about continuing to change/update them with the times. For example, the Seahawks uniforms might look dated and silly 10 years from now (along with much of college football's extreme uni changes). I simply feel the modern and constantly updated materials and cut/design of the underlying uniform itself is enough change to not have to worry about crazy changes to Miami's specific uniform [outside of fixing the logo]. Just my 2 cents, Steve.

 

I think they need to move in this direction with regard to the integration of navy blue. That would give the team the opportunity to create an entirely new uniform choice, sort of how the Eagles and Cardinals now have black jerseys to choose from.

 

It looks really great. I prefer the logo with the navy because it accents the other colors. Pretty much like everything about it. Great job!

I just wish they would keep the helmet to piss some people off.

 

Because it's a cartoon, or its stupid, or Dolphins don't wear helmets. Yet Dolphins dont play the game of football either. Although a Dolphin will play catch with a trainer, and back in the day they used to have one play catch AND wear a Dolphins helmet.

It's beyond me too! I loved the logo as a kid and so what if I've grown into a man and still like it.

Also: If they were to use this logo, I would hope that they thinned the blue out some. There is a little too much of it and I think it would look much better if they just use it with thin lines instead of taking up almost the entire body and tail.

As much as I want an update, and I do think this particular mock is cool in a way, I would say the helmet and logo is too neon ish, and would like an update to the past..

I want that Czonka aqua with a modern twist.

 

I love the logo and helmet. Something is off on the uni's though. Has a lot of potential and definitely the best mock up yet

 

Best logo I've seen. Wins hands down for me.

Nice but I prefer the Dolphin in the Old Stadium logo .Its simpler ,stylistic and more simbolic .

Whatever logo is decided upon I will be glad to see a Dolphin without the helmet .If you look at the current Dolphin from a distance the helmet looks like a growth giving the impression of a bizarro fish rather than a Dolphin IMO.

 

Looks like they got zonks jersey from china. I also hate the navy. Aqua and orange are our colors. Ditch the navy please

Because, when you go inside the "9", and around the "3" with the outline, it fills in. It's a font/design flaw.

Back to the possible new uni as posted by the OP, I like the logo. I don't like the numbers or the brightness of the orange. Looks almost red. Keep our colors the same, and do something less "futuristic" with the numbers and I think I could get on board with it.

Back in the day, the NFL wasn't as strict as they are now about "uniformity". Joe Robbie was one of the poorer owners in football, and the '72 team had a mismatch of uniform styles. You'll also notice that Csonka had no sleeve stripes, and the numerical font is different from what Kiick and Morris are wearing. Even odder is that the #2 on Morris and Kiick's jersey's don't even match on the jersey, and if you watch some old films you'll see the #2 font is different on the back (matching the sleeves) than it is on the front.

The team became more "uniform" in 1973, with my all-time favorite Dolphins look.

 

Absolutely crazy about that logo. Just wow. The uniforms need some attention. But that logo is just boss

 

Very observant PG. I totally did not pick up on that. I take back my earlier post.

 

I like the whole thing. The ONLY thing I would change is on the Aqua jersey, I'd make the numbers white with an orange outline. This is the way uniform directions are going. It's about selling an eye catching product in the stores. That's why these teams have 3-4 different uniform sets. If you're gonna change it, CHANGE it. That design is great. It's a change up, but I still think it works. With that said, my favorite uni's are the one's from 1994. Love those.

 

As someone from the Bahamas where all of our water is aqua, I disagree.

I echo a lot of other sentiments. I love the logo, I think it is perfect, colors and all.

The uniform can use so e tweaking though. Make the helmet strip a solid orange band down the middle, change the numbers to a solid white as the camo-coral looks terribad.

Make the pants white with no piping and just the logo on the hip. Aqua socks and voila...logo/uniform changed. Modern, yet a tip of the cap to the past.

 

That logo/uniform combination is just a tweak or two away from being pretty good. Always concerning with they make changes, but I have seen some REALLY BAD ideas out there, and this is at least decent-good. Seeing the Phins have a winning season while sporting the new look, with a playoff win thrown in, would do a LOT to win over 99% of Miami fans.

 

I like the Dolphin, the sun not so much.

 

If I had to choose today, these or the ones we currently have, I would take these...they do make you say " pretty bad *** " when you keep looking,
