He was released by the Colts on the 9th of Oct. Jones comes from football power house Shepherd University… where he caught 34 passes for 403 yards as a senior.
If he's an acorn, Ireland would have to be canonized. If he's a practice squad body, nobody expects anything more. No lose.
I'm glad this is rightfully deemed JUST a rumor... wouldn't want to spark an outpouring of emotion needlessly.
He's listed as a FB on the Colts depth chart. I liked Chase Ford as well. Figured he'd have signed somewhere by now.
Chase Ford???? He was terrible at the University of Miami. When he first arrived at UM, it was thought that he would be the next great TE. He never developed at all and the fact that he was cut by the Eagles does not surprise me in the least. The Dolphins need to draft a top tier TE in 2013. Ford is not the answer and hopefully the Dolphins won't waste time signing him to a contract.
To be fair, there was a lot of wasted talent that came from UM. Guys were never developed. Some guys, like Jimmy Graham and Sam Shields, showed flashes but are only now realizing their potential in the NFL. That's on coaching IMO.
...and Michael Egnew has done even less. Could be they are bringing in another developmental type of guy to light a fire under Egnew.
