"According to sources, Taylor will publicly request a trade to a contender Sunday when he addresses the five-month running soap opera at an 11:30 a.m. press conference at Hard Rock Live." http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/football/pro/dolphins/sfl-0531taylor,0,4076275.story Also just reported in Miami Herald http://www.miamiherald.com/1260/story/553676.html
The sun-sentinel page you linked doesn't have anything like that. The headline is "Jason Taylor's teammates in the dark as to his return" And the 2nd paragraph is "A little bit [shocked],'' said running back Ronnie Brown Saturday morning before participating in the Dolphins annual charity fishing tournament. "But you know those guys have a different agenda some time. Unfortunately, it's part of the business, not always being on the same page.''
uh... really?? I never would have guessed that our OLB/DE makes plays on the defensive side of the ball. I haven't seen him make plays anywhere else. But, Thanks Ronnie Onto the issue at hand... I hope JT at least says something. Whether it's i will report to camp on time, or I want to be traded. Just say something, and end this ordeal once and for all. somebody... please.
At this point it will almost be better. If he is here all year, there will be some sort of drama between he and Parcells, and the team doesn't need it at all. Its time for a new face of the franchise, someone else to step up. Who is it going to be Ronnie? A rookie? We'll see. He was a great dolphin and I wish him the best in football, dancing, or acting.
So he has a $4.5 million offer on the table? Sounds like a starring role. That is, of course, if there's really an offer.
I get the feeling he will be retiring as a fin then. He really is a primma donna if he thinks he will get what he wants by requesting to be traded in the PRESS, NOW, after months of double speak and whispering to the press like a woman.
I had thought that he would end up playing for us after he made the "Training Camp Opens" comments, now apparently that isn't going to happen... What exactly does he hope to accomplish other then slamming Tuna and Friends with "I wanted to play this year but those mean old new people wouldn't trade me" after all being on DWTS has opened new doors for me..blah blah... As if going to the media now will change a single thing.
Silver Lining Well I look at it this way .. If JT wants to be traded to a contender a real CONTENDER then one team that makes sense and we have worked well with would be the Cowboys. He gets to go to a team that can get to the big game and continue to play with Zack. We could hopefully get a player they would want to cast off anyway. Based on reports over the past 3 months these are the players that we might have a shot at: Marcus Spears Bobby Carpenter and perhaps Ken Hamlin whom they have still not locked in on a longterm contract.
I agree. The only thing I disagree with is the possible compensation we would receive. I don't see them giving up Hamlin as he is Roy's safety blanket. Spears would be a good chance of happening. Carpenter is a toss-up. He's been mentioned on the possible cuts list and he has been thrown around as a possible player for this team this upcoming year.
well seeing as how tuna and friends went to the media last week........................ I think if true the cat is out of the bag and this is really just a response I guess.
Scramble your eggs and fry up the bacon. Pour ya a big cup of coffee. Should be a very interesting morning.
JT will retire before this season. I have nothing new to add, because that's all there is, imo. Hollywood calls. Bpk
It seems to me if he had retirement in his heart he could have done that and not alienated himself with a large number of fans. I think he still wants to play, he just wants to have a chance at a ring if he's going to do so. I dont blame him for not wanting to go through another rebuilding project while his career is at the end. Just let him go and lets put this soap opera behind us.
how could it not be.. there is nothing else going on.. espn will be fanning the flames of the soap opera we have become.
