where did you get that from? I don't recall us playing 16 games yet. Respectfully, I can come up with an arbitrary extrapolated stat, too. 32 catches, 472 yards, 0 TDs. (Those are the past 2 weeks averaged out BTW.)
Victor Cruz, DeSean Jackson, Greg Jennings, Mike Wallace. Those guys have much better receivers across from them than Davone Bess. And I am a Davone Bess fan saying this...
It's almost getting to the point in the NFL where the ability to run the ball is more important than the success of your ground game. GB is tossing around Houston's defense.
I can do the same and only use the Arizona game. Round and round we go. I have an opinion (I think he is a good player who will put up career numbers), others think we will only win if we have a "look at me/diva type" #1 receiver, others will hate Hartline no matter what he does because Ireland drafted him. Did I say that this message board is predictable? I simply don't think that we need to use vast resources on a "#1 receiver" when we have talent on the roster and those resources should be spent in places that will do more to help us win (secondary, pass rushers, interior offensive line). There are people who will move the Earth and give up anything to get "the guy".

There were some obscene numbers posted of games won by Jeff Fisher when he had more than a week to prepare. If Fisher is good at anything it's getting his team amped. Heck, factor in them being over .500 for the first time in six years and hells yeah they were pumped...

No, everything else you posted in this thread was empirically verifiable and quite unsurprisingly wrong.
Rams had 12 penalties for 94 yards, compared to 5-40 for us. Had a lot to do with us winning the game.
But all the attention he has drawn made the Rams notice him by keeping Finnegan on him all day which in return helped open Bess up for some nice completions, and then there was some Marlon Moore sightings with Finnegan no where around, why was he not around Moore? Because Hartline was on the field pulling him deeper down the sideline. I say the game plan has nothing to do with feeding the ball to Hartline Philbin wants a team on the field and this time the plan was to keep the ball safe and controlled. Hartline did his job by entering the game with over 500yds making Fisher lock his best CB on him. I was wanting to see Reggie get used on a few more screens and such.
The complete disappearance of Naanee has already been complemented by a no name receiver in Marlon Moore. Better late than never. Nice job M Moore. Next he will be taking that #2 spot away from Hartline. Or just sharing it would be fine.
I'm not sure I agree with your meaning behind this, X, namely the "Hartline helping open some nice completions for Bess" part. I say that b/c the nature of the game will always allow for some completions by the opposing QB. 12 of our 21 completions were to backs & tight ends. Outside of 1 play, our receivers weren't running around wide open. Quite contrary; 8 catches for 59 yards. I don't think it's fair to confuse Tannehill's efficient day with Hartline pulling all the coverage so that others could be productive, b/c if that where the case we would've had more than 17 points and our longest WR reception [outside of Moore's TD] would've been greater than 11 yards. Excluding one throw to Moore, Rams cornerbacks were significantly more talented than our receivers. That's why the whole argument about not needing top talent at receiver is baseless. If the opposing corners are better than your receivers, it's possible you're headed for a long day.

True. How is that relevant though? Unless you're implying that Hartline has no one to draw coverage away from him. In which case I'd point out that Hartline doesn't draw any coverage to begin with.
That's a bit harsh given how he's played overall for us this year. He was shut out yesterday. So what? It happens to the great ones. Hartline is, by no means, a great receiver, but he makes some big catches for us and has stepped up for the most part this season. So what he is no Calvin or Andre Johnson. He's our biggest WR threat right now and, except for yesterday, has been pretty reliable. I'm not disappointed in him. The Rams whole defensive game plan was to stop Bush and Hartline. They did both, and somehow we were able to still get the win. I'm just happy about that. When Gaffney gets on the field, that will just be one more thing for the defense to worry about and we should take another step forward. And the opposing defenses won't be able to focus on only Hartline. This is no jab at Bess' ability. But we all know he is no deep threat. But an awesome slot receiver. Lastly, although Hartline has no stat line for yesterday, he still played a role. He opened things up for our other receivers.
What did the Rams do to stop Hartline? I didn't notice anything like that. It looked to me like they were able to take him away w/o devoting any extra resources to it. And I seriously doubt Gaffney is coming in here to "worry" anyone.
