I have more than a suspicion that we are going to find out this weekend what this team is about.

So, you`re saying there first five opponents took them lightly because they were favored to win ??
You really think the opponents mindset was " hey look, the Vegas odds-makers have us favored to win,we don`t have to play as hard to win here today. Yep,we just need to go through the motions to get this W today" ?...

I hope you really don`t believe that Shou.

Context, we can see the Defense is playing well, but in the picture, how well is it playing?

In every game there is a team that's supposed to win, and a team that isn't, and the two teams involved know which teams those are.

What I'm saying is that below the level of conscious awareness (or above it), that knowledge of which team is supposed to win can often create an emotional response and a corresponding level of motivation that can make players get more (or less) out of their physical abilities.

Its time for the Dolphins to start winning consistently at home again, instead of struggling at home. The Dolphins at one time were hard to beat at home and teams knew they were going to have a battle. Its time to restart that tradition and prove to opposing teams that their coming into the Dolphin's home and that they are leaving knowing they've been in a war. That may be an exaggeration but I want opposing teams to know that the stadium belongs to the Dolphins and that they don't feel like they are at home.

Once the game begins and both teams are battling in the trenches do you really think they care at all who was favored by 2 , 3 , 4, or whatever? If a team is heavily favored over an opponent and the talent level is severely mismatched then i`ll agree that the mindset would be different. In this case I don`t believe the small spread will be a psychological factor one way or another.

Positive pub never will win a football game. All that talk of being a good football team has to be proven. Who gives a damn about what is said from Monday till Sat

I was fine with it, knew what a unique talent he was, but he wasn't option A for me..until I saw him in person, and that all changed.

Odds-makers usually have a 3 point swing in the home teams favor, then they generate an actual spread after that. In this case the Rams are only a 1/2 point underdog after the home teams 3 point factor. As far as the Dolphins being pressured to win as 3 1/2 point favorites at home is not realistic. If anything, they might feel an urgency to produce at HOME, as opposed to on the road. But as far as the point spread factor,it wont even come into play.If they were playing a bad team and they were favored by a touchdown or more then i would agree there would be a psychological urgency factor . But not in THIS case.

I'm not saying the Dolphins are feeling pressured to win. I'm saying the Rams can't very well take the Dolphins lightly if the Rams are believed to be the team that will lose the game. And that may be the first time the Dolphins have faced such an opponent this year.

IF the Rams were favored by a point or two you honestly believe they would take the Dolphins less seriously?? I didnt think so.

I just feel the spread is so small it doesnt matter either way. Both teams should take the opponent equally as serious. Just my opinion

Most adults recognize that odds makers don't really say who they feel will win... they make odds based on betting trends. Trying to say that NFL players not only know the odds makers opinions on their upcoming game but that they don't play as hard because of any type of points being given to them...

It's illogical and laughable, to put it nicely.

The players know which team is supposed to win and which one isn't.
