We are already at rock freaking bottom. What the hell are we going to progress on, if Cam doesn't even have a plan? We're looking at a 3-13 AT BEST team next season and a possible #1 pick overall in 2009. Rebuilding has not even begun in this team. Rebuilding begins this offseason, and Parcells is the well known, very respected, football mind this organization NEEDS to get this team to move forward. Huizenga just doesn't know how to run it, he needs other people to take full control.

I am all for Parcells. Bring him to Miami.

We need some excitement around this team and this could be just enough to get things going in the right direction.

Doubt it, Mueller and Cam are not going anywhere.

So Parcells will be President of Football Operations.

    Randy as GM

    Cam as HC

Outside of adding his experience, does that really change anything? Can you knock or rip Randy and Cam for their draft day decisions?

If not, all that is left is Cam as HC and his 1st year ever record. Hard to say what this addition will bring....its not a bad thing perse, but not getting my rocks off just yet.

I'm comfortable with Tuna as a FIN, and it could have a carryover effect from just him being hired. Morale would get a boost I'd say.

Problem is that the one thing that Parcells us great at, works as a HC not a GM. Parcells is a very good motivator, and is pretty good at getting his team ready for the opponent of that week (Game plan...amount of practice), but is not near as good at recruiting, drafting, and as a game day coach.

If anything, he is a better HC then GM, but because of the way he tends to bail on his team when they most need him, I would have to say even that is a very big mistake.

Hopefully we learned from Saban that that type of uncommitted personality does not make you better, just put back to square one once he takes off on you.

As VP would appear a win win move.

Huizenga has needed an in house advisor since he bouoght the team.
Randy and Cams future here would be weighed judiciously not hastily.

What better place for the tuna to wrap up his career, indirectly taking on the Pats, and living in South Florida.
I'm not really keen on the idea of relying on the guy who coached every other team into contention, so this keeps him out of the limlight, but his expertise, and proven leadership permeating throughout the house.

Even if it does smell like tuna.

If Parcells joins the Fins then you probably wouldnt see any positive change for a couple of years. I would think Cam would be given another year as coach, which isnt a bad thing, but Parcells influence wouldnt be felt right away. He obviously would have say in the upcoming draft but I dont think that is really going to change their picks.

First of all you didn't post anything but a direct insult... Secondly, your first post offered nothing but a crass statement with little to no value to the thread... Shall I go on?:confused2:

Allright after months of no FinHeaven, and reading these posts here, The Parcells incident has provoked me to join my fellow Phin Phans in this arena of chat.

IF.....Parcells is hired this tells me a few things.

#1 Wayne is still dedicated to making this team better, and proving that no expense will get in the way of it. Also neither would talks with other parties in buying our beloved team...get in the way of it. Kudos to Wayne, truth has always been blaring like a neon sign...Wayne is NOT a football guy, but he tries to surround the team with well respected football men, and Parcells is a giant Diamond in that regard.

#2 Parcells will help immediately. Now IF Cam stays and Randy stays...that will be a interesting relationship, but nobody's ego should be too big, lets face it, at best this is a 3-13 team, so hopefully they can work together. My only question is this, its obvious Parcells would be responsible for alot of major decisions....IF Cam stays and tanks next year, which could easily happen, and he does it with a much more talented team. Face it, Parcells name alone will bring in hard working Free Agents to Miami, plus the high draft picks....IF Cam tanks again, Who will coach here knowing Parcells runs the ship? Bill Cowher wont, really no big name Coaches might not want to give up the power that Bill would own here in Miami. I would love to see Coach Chin to have a legitimate shot at coaching here, if the future unfolds in that direction.

#3 Finallly someone who can give some post game interviews with some fight, some spunk, no Saban drool, or Wandstache dribble. In 2 years, Parcells as a Fin, will be in those really cool Coors Light Coach Commercials.

Glad to be amongst you all again fellow Phin Phollowers......our team may be low, but we shall continue to raise our heads high!

parcell's best quality is his ability to evaluate talent.

cam and mueller may stay. mueller is a parcells guy from what i hear.

but the most important thing it brings is that this franchise will have someone at the top who can make decisions that has proven they know what it takes to build a winner.

I really don’t get bringing Parcels here. He’s a coach, and that’s it. You might as well bring back Shula. It seems like desperation on Wayne’s part to grasp at anything to get this team right, when this was never going to be a quick fix. There is every chance this team is going to turn this thing around with another solid draft and Cam’s rebuilding. I’m a little sick of the same old coaches being passed around like Pokemon cards. With the rumors of the sale, Cam’s job security, Parcels coming in, the team is sounding less solid than when we had a new coach, the rebuilding was in full swing, we just had a rough year with the injuries, etc. Sound like chaos. I hope it leads to some stability, but I don’t think that when I hear the name â€Parcelsâ€.

Perfect choice as a VP . . . hey I'm not sure on Cam, and Mueller isn't half bad . . . the draft looks to have been solid . . . Miami has always NEEDED that guy in the front office who knows FOOTBALL . . . they are getting the best out there, and its a move Miami NEEDS to make.

I don't want Bill as the HC, but as the VP . . . where he will have some say w/ the GM . . . that is the perfect thing for him and this organization.

As a GM I might be nervous too, but as VP of Operations? He would be perfect because the first thing he's going to do is get this organization it's balls back, we have been a sad sack bunch for too long now.

Good to see alot of you guys again.

Adam Schefter reported if Parcells comes here he would hire his own GM likely John Ireland from Dallas and then they will consult to find a HC. Likely John Pascloni the linebackers coach from Dallas, Mike Zimmer or John Haley.
