That's what he said... Makes me feel better about our situation, I mean sh&$, if we were 2 and 2 we'd be selling out... Jet fans have realized, their Qb dreams are over.. It's tebow time..
I thought it was only Dolphin fans who stopped going to games when their team is losing? Perhaps New York Jet fans are only bandwagon fans too. With the cost to go to games today. The fact is that many fans are very selective about how they spend their sports dollars. They are willing spend money to go see an exciting and winning team, but they are not willing to spend their money on a team which provides no excitement for the fans or wins games. The is the reality around the majority of the NFL and not just in Miami, as some people on here would love to make us believe.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_National_Football_League_stadiums#List Looks like thier stadium holds a bit more.
They also have at least ten million more citizens to draw their fan base from in the surrounding area.
Agreed, and from an outsiders perspective the Jets not filling their stadium is a much worse situation than Miami not doing so.
I live about 15-20 minutes away from there. The place is huge. When they were building it next to Giants stadium you could see how much it dwarfed the old place.
I'd say that would have more to do with the Giants than the Jets. The only stadium I've ever been to is Heinz field (Ricky's first game back where he proceeded to get injuried). That stadium is on the lower part of the list, but I will say it's really well built. The only thing I wasn't fond of was one end of the stadium was completely open.
What is even more ridiculous is that the stadium is in New Jersey and not in New York. The only true New York team is the Buffalo Bills. It should be the Jersey Jets and Giants.
There used to be a great website that showed attendance (tickets sold and tickets used) that went back to the 70's. I used to use it in this argument all the time. Going all the way back, and on up until the mid 2000's, you would find that only a select few teams fans showed up when their respective teams sucked! The rest, and vast majority of the leagues fans followed the trend of not showing up when their teams sucked and it got worse and worse if they continued to do so.... That site folded up in about 2006 though
GB, Washington, Denver and KC were the best. Pitt has always been decent enough to draw good solid crowds though..
"Why should we care?" Are you freaking serious, man? Have you no base emotions? Do you get no joy out of seeing the Jets fan base suffer? I want to see Fireman Ed's seat empty. I want to see the franchise teeter on the brink of financial ruin because of all the empty seats. I want Rex and Tannenbaum desperate so they make more moves like hiring Sparano. This is the New York JEST we're talking about here, remember?
They will start selling quite a bit more once Tebow is starting. Its coming oh so soon. In fact I am willing to bet his first start....Comes against us in two weeks.
