One of the discs had minor scratches on it. Probably not severe enough to affect the game, but come on. I didn't pay 60 bucks (don't even say it mor ) to get scratched discs. I am aware that I am not the only one with this issue, and the way they pack the DVDs looks like they took 2 seconds to stuff it in the container. Tomorrow I will trade it in and see if I have better luck. EDIT: Yay 100 posts. Long way to go to catch up to my 3000+ posts in the other forum.
I had the same issue as well. I think it stems more from them not making the correctly holder for a 4 disc game. It holds 3 discs fine, but that fourth one likes to pop out after alot of movement.
Bro, for a NEW game...DO NOT accept that mess. Go right back to the store and get a new one until your happy. If we pay 60 bucks for a mint sealed game then thats what you need to get for your hard earned cash.
I got another one that looks okay. Tested it on my system and it works. Ill play it when I get tired of GTA4.
My first early impressions of this game: I felt right at home with this game since I finished FFX a few months ago and been playing FFVII. This game is as close to final fantasy as you can get. You might as well call it, Final Fantasy: Lost Odyssey. This isn't suprising since the person who made this game used to be part of Square. The graphics are fantastic. They are just gorgeous. I wouldn't expect less from this type of game. The plot is really interesting, and the dream sequences are a really nice addition to the game. One of the strongest qualities of this game is its sound. It sounds like uncompressed sound, which is probably why it is 4 discs. The 2nd boss in the game on the mountain peak is just insane! I game over'ed twice before I finally barely defeated it. Now a few flaws: The camera angle can get really annoying sometimes since the camera is fixed when walking around a city, and the transition between different locations is awkward sometimes when walking around a city. But, I just finished playing GTA4, so it will take me a bit to get used to this type of camera again. Finally, I like how I game-over even though the main character is immortal. Overall, fantastic game so far. I can't wait to get further into it.
i think i said the EXACT same thing when I talked about LO. Love it though. That boss was EXTREMELY hard for me too. I actually had to walk through the area a few times to level a few times. Overall great game!
I absolutely love the soundtrack of this game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFOsFLjBP94&feature=related One of my particular favorites, the song as you look at the world map.
Im getting through disc 2 right now. The dream sequences are such fantastic reads. I really enjoy them.
i think they're great reads, but i also feel they dropped the ball on them a bit. Because some of the reads are way too long for today's gamers, and they would have made AMAZING cut scenes.
Yea probably, but I think they add a really neat dimension to the game. It may not be good for people with ADD, but the quality of the writing is fantastic. The background music and sound effects add so much to it; I think it is better than simply having a cut scene. It leaves something to your imagination and adds a little bit of intelligence to a fantastic game.
Was 4 discs full of cut scenes not enough? I like they, but they prolly were skipped by alot of younger gamers.
Unfortunately you are most likely right. It is too bad because these reads add so much depth to the characters. Brilliant move to do this. On Disc 3 now.
