According to the "Gazzetta" Mancini is out and Mourinho is in. Mourinho can't wait to start to work with Inter, he's very happy to be the new coach......whats funny is that all the major newspapers are pointing to Mourinho to be the Inter new coach, but I can't find any official confirmation. What appear to be certain is that Mancini is no longer with Inter.
According to Sky Sports, Beckham and Defoe will start for England when they take on the USA tonight. Also they have Gerrard starting on the left, but that must be a mistake?
I dont think he will be at Chelsea next year. The other rumour was that Lampard may go to Inter if Mourinho went there.
yeah, the biggest rumor I've heard about Drogba is he will be going to Milan instead of Sheva, but until they don't make it official, well ... Lampard would be a great sign for Inter if that hapens.
So you only come and hang here when England wins? Good match. I'm a Poland, England, then USA fan. It's hard for me because I grew up in the USA watching England but then the US finally started to be semi competitive again. And just about that time is when I was old enough to start having pride in my family heritage and learning about my great grandmother's journey from Poland to the US. So I've rationalized it to that order, but support them 100% if they're not playing each other.
Everybody wants Lampard, which is an incredible player and personaly I don't think that Inter will get him. I wish ACMilan makes a big push for Eto'o.
Genuinely, Frank Lampard is the most overrated player in English football, nee European football. He's a system player who plateaued out at West Ham in a 4-4-2, came to Chelsea and 'flourished' in the formation, mainly because he has Claude Makelele sitting behind him which means that rarely does he have to cross his own half way line. He scores a huge amount of goals, mainly because he sits in the hole behind the striker and the two wider players, although God knows, I'd say half of his strikes are deflections. Watch a player like Aston Villa's Gareth Barry; gets half the press that Lampard does and is twice the player and anyone putting Lampard in the same category as a Steven Gerrard may as well stop talking about the game right now. You only had to watch England last night to see how much better they were as a team when Lampard went off and Barry came on. I'm not a Chelsea fan, but Michael Essien is a tremendous player. To think that Essien is used primarily as a full back and then as a holding midfielder to accomodate Lampard, is scandalous. When that badge kisser sods off to Italy, you'll see Essien and Ballack playing alongside each other and will highlight just how much better than Ghanian is than Lampard.
I think he was. March 27, 2005, Mexico won 2-1. http://www.ussoccer.com/articles/viewArticle.jsp_281668.html
lest we forget US has never beat us in Mexican soil. And now that they have lost the Hugo Sanchez advantage. We are going to destroy them. Eriksson might not be Hiddink, but he certainly tops Bob Bradley
Nothing to write home about though Simon. Playing Gerrard on the left is crazy, and as much as i like Defoe he aint a lone fwd. I wish we still had an old fashioned Ctr Fwd, and I also wish they would give Ashton a shout in friendlies. And when will England start playing to their strengths--100mph footy
Yep, you've got to find that identity first, and that will come with time. Last time I saw them in March, they looked confused as to what they were as a squad. The first half was spent playing continental football with short passes, and winning the possession battle, but they just didn't take enough risks nor play with enough oomph. Then in the second half, Capello replaced Gerrard, with Owen at halftime, and kiss it goodbye. The rest of the night was spent telegraphing long balls to Crouch. You can replace him with Ashton, but the result will be similar IMO. They couldn't hold on to the ball, and the pony express quickly got swept off the pitch. Ended up losing 1 nil. Did not see how the tide flew against the US, but that one touch through ball from Barry on Gerrard's goal. Brilliant.
Well about that: Wrong time for Eriksson to coach Mexico, says Borgetti http://www.timesofmalta.com/article...me-for-eriksson-to-coach-mexico-says-borgetti
Well he's old enough... Seriously, I don't understand that kind of mentality, always "local" coaches. why? just because the european coaches don't know the mexican enviroment? That's a lame excuse IMO.
I agree. They should just shut up and play. If you don't like your trainer, then don't play for him. Simple as that imo. If the guy has had past success, why question him? If he has done more than your previous coach, why question him? Some things just don't make sense.
