The NFL may be a joke, but I can see how the call was made the way it was.

Tate appeared to have a hand on the ball as Jennings had 2. Receivers make one handed catches ALL the time, and there is no 2 hand possession rule. Tate's hand appeared to stay on the ball through the process of the catch. As simultaneous possession is NOT reviewable, and the signal on the field was touchdown, what else could the officials really review? If Tate's one hand had possession through the process of the catch?

There have been calls that directly affected the outcome of a game. This is really nothing new.

While your opinion is noted, I'll ask again, with how the play was called, what else could the officials review?

Again, that is great, it was ruled a TD on the field. So, again, what could they review?

    Lingerie Football League Statement:
"Because of the LFLā€™s perception it is that much more critical for us to hire officiating crews that are competent, not only for the credibility of our game but to keep our athletes safer. Due to several on-field incompetent officiating we chose to part ways with with a couple crews which apparently are now officiating in the NFL. We have a lot of respect for our officials but we felt the officiating was not in line with our expectations.
We have not made public comment to date because we felt it was not our place to do so. However in light of tonightā€™s event, we felt it was only fair that NFL fans knew the truth as to who are officiating these games."

That is not reviewable. What could the officials review with how the play was ruled on the field? Possession was established through the ruling of a touchdown no matter how wrong the call was. Only other reviewable aspect of the play was if Tate was in bounds, which he was. Let me ask another question, had regular officials screwed this pooch, are people calling for their heads outside of the GB fanbase?

The problem is that they made the bad call in the first place. Who is saying the REVIEW is where the refs messed up. They suck because they ruled it a touchdown in the first place.

Its like the Steelers Dolphins game a couple years ago. The refs BY RULE couldn't rule dolphins possession after the review was initiated. The problem wasn't that they didn't give the dolphins possession after the review, it was that the ref with no angle called a touchdown when he couldn't see anything, making possession nonrenewable. So again, its not the review that failed, its the refs on the field.

It was more than just the one play though... What about the phantom PI called on the final drive. Or the phantom hold against the Seahawks. Or the bogus roughing the passer which negated a GB interception. Or the nonexistent PI called against the Seahawks on the Packers go ahead drive. All of these mistakes I named are just the ones that happened in the last ten minutes of the game.

Officials make mistakes. That's excepted. A glaring error on what seems like every other play is too much. It adds up. The call at the end was just icing on the cake.

And of course the regular refs make mistakes too. But they happen MUCH less frequently. You know that is true because the players are begging the regular officials to come back! How often does that happen in professional sports?

That 2nd half the Pack were getting some favorable calls. It was actually going their way until that drive.

Unrelated to the 2nd half but why was offsides called on the Seahawks in the 1st qt? I didn't recall seeing a Seahawk offsides. I believe it was the 1 or 2nd penalty called.

To be clear, the refs suck because they blew calls within the framework of the rules of the game, just as the "real" refs have, and people are upset? Or replacement refs made calls that may have been points of emphasis from the league office (their bosses) based off of misses in previous weeks? At the end of the day the referees enforcing the rules on the field, whether or not they are pros or scabs are human and are prone to errors like this. The NFL has IMO made their bed on this one, now they get to sleep in it whether they like it or not.

NFL Network is full of idiots. they were talking about the NFL possibly overturning the ruling and give the packers the win. There is no chance in hell that would ever happen. It would open up a box that the NFL does not want open. Also Vegas would lose so much money

No doubt the regular refs are way better than these replacements, but I simply disagree with the notion that the regular refs never make calls that end up costing a team a game. And even the regular refs have games where they make numerous calls which add up (see Seahawks v Steelers Super Bowl from a few years ago), but we never approach their errors with the same magnifying glass that we have with these refs.

I'll be happy when the regular refs are back, but I don't agree that the NFL needs to do whatever it takes to get them back. I think the whole refereeing standard should be changed to more booth control (among other things).

Everyone is complaining about the referees, but why would the NFL change their position? We can complain all we want about how it's impacting the game, but the bottom line is that ratings are up, stadiums are full, and merchandise is flowing out the door.

The NFL has been moving away from being a fan-centric product to strictly a business making people rich for the last several years. This is just the natural progression.

The only way that this labor dispute gets resolved is if people start walking away from it and the league starts losing money. Which, let's face it, just isn't going to happen.

Honestly, stitches does have a point... These games are highly entertaining. These games are coming down to the wire because of flags. The drama is awesome. Not only that but its going to get worse, because there is a ton of pressure to "get it right" in those dicey downfield matchups. Its not like Miami is going anywhere, so I'll sit back and give no ****s.

Dude, amidst all this debacle, we forget how the Dolphins were shafted in 2009 vs. the Steelers in the same type of play. It happens. With that said, yes the real refs need to be back.

The XFL was entertaining at one point too.

Actually you may have a point. Let's put one of the refs in a Ski Mask, Nick Patrick NWO-style.

NFL statement says Tate should have been flagged and game over, but that isn't reviewable and it was called and upheld as a touchdown, which will not be changed or overturned. The result of the game is final.
