question is, is the coordinator calling a conservative game, or is the Qb uncomfortable at this point..looked like an unbalanced gameplan, that wasn't executed well by the Qb.
I'm not that down on Tannehill. He certainly left some plays out there but he's not getting any help in the passing game. He's not at the stage where he's going to be throwing guys open and going all Aaron Rodgers out there, and he's in desperate need of some real threats.
I understand that, I was asking Pate if he would run in that situation.. I dont run on third and 7 there, conditions, distance, I've got to call a great play to get some yards..
I'm not that down on him either, but that's because he's a rookie. If he's not playing SIGNIFICANTLY better next year, though, we'll have a serious problem. You're not gonna get anywhere with QB ratings below 60 two games out of every three.
Ah OK. I think we should've run all three times, myself. I think once you get into FG range, you play it safe with a rookie QB. Be glad the rookie QB was able to hit the 41-yard pass to get you down there. Don't push it. That is if I'm trying to win the game.
I'd be willing to bet that he didn't have the green light to check off on those deep balls at the end of the game or in overtime. Only to possibly two or three safe plays ......
This thread should be renamed, "It all depends on Tannehill." This team will sink or swim on the QB. Everything else is really jibber jabber until we get the QB positioned solved. I guess we'll know in 1-2 yrs if we're contenders or pretenders. Until then...enjoy the ride.
In terms of running, after going up 17-10, the Dolphins only ran the ball 6 times. If its working, why move away from it the rest of the game?
I gotta stay in my offense one more first down, the conditions weren't good and that's a long field goal.
When you put it that way, no, I don't think he will play like a top 10 pick as he should of never been drafted that high to begin with.
