Who else here wishes we had a towering WR? Like atleast 6'4''. Think we can get one in the draft? Limas Sweed anyone?
he is slow though ....i think i seen a mock where they have us taking Paul Hubbard wr from Wisconsin in the 3rd round he is big too but i have never seen him play or even heard about him.
They'll probably end with the top pick of the second round so let's hope no team gets a high compensatory pick and takes him.
Very little chance he hits the second round .... and if we take him with the #1 overall there will be a riot. Bryant Johnson FA is worth a look for this dept. Think hes a big guy. But yes, a big guy to pair with speedy Ginn would be nice.
Give me a big TE. What I want opposite Ginn more than anything are a pair of hands with glue on them. The guy can be 5'11" for all I care as long as he gets every ball thrown this way.
Could grab Marcus Monk later on in the draft if not sweed. Maybe Hardy falls to the second if he enters.
I think we've much more pressing needs for our 1st and two 2nds than WR, possibly the second 2nd if a prominate WR falls. Though I do admit that the though of Ginn & Sweed lined up for us is putting a big smile on my face...
i want Hardy with the 31st pick. 6'6" 230 i believe run sa 4.40 40 and literally ABUSED KING all day when they went heads up n mind u King is a TOP corner in College. Indiana is his school for those that aren't aware (btw, ties with Cam)
I want a receiver that can CATCH. I don't give **** how tall he is. A good tight end would be perfect though, with good hands.
i dont know if you guys actually pay attention to what cameron likes in a WR he doesnt like big WR he likes small, fast ones
Actually, it's fairer to say that Cameron likes smart, quick-learning WRs. His system is pretty complex: he needs players who can grasp it.
we didn't let welker go. NE poison-pilled us, we didn't have a choice and him letting a small, fast WR go and him not signing big WR are two mutually exclusive things. so please, tell me which big WRs he has had in SD or MIA
Hardy of Indiana was the WR I liked most (other than Crabtree, the Freshman from Texas Tech). If Hardy were to drop to # 32 that I think you would have to give him a look as the BPA.
again, i dont think hardy has the game-speed that cameron looks for in a WR. personally, i disagree with that view, especially in our situation, but that is cameron's philosophy.
Not quite accurate. They tendered an offer sheet to Welker with a poison pill provision; however, the league stepped in and basically mandated that the poison pill be removed, and New England's 7th round pick be included in the trade, as a way of preventing the poison pill drama from taking center-stage again.
i would really like to see some sort of link backing up the NFL stepping in. Not saying that it didn't happen, but its now how I remember it.
I agree. TE is an important position in this offense. Martin has been horrible imo. We need to draft one early. If Sweed was to last until our second pick, I don't think I could resist wanting him though. I just wish Donald Lee wouldn't have dropped so many passes while he was a Dolphin. He's definately one of the better tight ends these days. A complete one too. Besides being a big receiving and redzone threat, I saw him laying people out with some of his blocking.
jackson was drafted by smith, and was almost ignored in the offensive scheme by cameron, despite them not having a decent WR. but point taken.
i wish we would just win more games lol i could care less about who catches it or their description... i, as all of your guys/girls, am tired of losing. I like this years team more then any in the past b/c of their heart but I still want to at least have a shot at the playoff wildcard each year.
