Until I see justification for him to start or even be on this roster, I will continue to provide a thread suggesting his release from this roster.
Hey now. Legedu has been the hallmark of consistency this year. He has continued his streaks of 0 catches and at least 1 missed crucial block. He is about as dependable as it gets on this roster.
I am hoping the argument of him tying up coverage for Hartline to catch underneath is total sarcaism. He is useless.
He looked like he lost his starting job mid-game to Davone Bess, here's hoping they drop him for Jabar Gaffney.
anyone else see him in warmups ???? ... he dropped a ball and his giant headphones fell off, he then bobbled his headphones after picking them up.....
I think only 2-3 of his 27 some odd snaps last week came in the second half. Hartline and Bess started today.
Maybe I was drunk but I could have swore Naanee got the bulk of snaps with Hartline early today. We'll see when PFF/etc. comes out I suppose.
I figured you were drunk based on those uncharacteristic spelling and grammatical errors in your thread.
If you are referring to phinsational and me in the game thread, I thought our being sarcastic was about as obvious as anyone could get.
According to nfl.com, Bess and Hartline started. http://www.nfl.com/liveupdate/gamecenter/55531/MIA_Gamebook.pdf
We shouldn't delight in the struggles of one of our players, but I too would like to see that video. Also, Naanee missed a block that destroyed a screen to Reggie Bush.
He didn't start. Hartline was the starter. Haven't rewatched this game yet but its clear who the top two guys are. Last week Naanee was wide open on a few of the tipped passes. He also took out 3 defenders on Thigpen's punt return TD and had multiple good blocks that caught my attention, including a key 3rd and 12 that allowed Bush convert. He's on every special teams unit. My approach would be to simply acquire better receivers and cut whomever is next in line. If he's next, fine. Until then, I think he's more or less a whipping boy amongst fans. Keep him as the 6th WR, keep Moore, while giving Armstrong and Matthews a chance to take that third sport.
Who is the person behind the effort to push him as a legitimate wide receiver or is it a group of people? This is a repeat of errors that have burdened the Dolphins over the years with other players who came in with potential but little return for it, yet stayed on the roster far too long. Surely there are some other available receivers in the twilight of their careers such as Plaxico Burress or Jabar Gaffney who could contribute more than Naanee? There are plenty of positives to take out of this game but it can't change the fact that Naanee is basically a wasted roster spot for the Miami Dolphins.
Special teams are IMO the only reason he's on the roster. He did make a nice tackle today on a punt coverage. hey, give equal time right
I realize he didn't start in that Hartline and Bess did. But when three wide outs were in he was in. I want that to stop as well.
I just think the Naanee memes are hilarious at this point. I don't have anything against him at all and he has done some good things the first 2 games, but he certainly doesn't deserve to start. Though Hartline started today anyway.
By the way, you know damn well because of these threads that Naanee is going to make a huge play one of these games.
He "starts" in three receiver sets. He plays a number of snaps. I thought based on last week he would have reduced snaps. He had a few in the first half. Then much like last week, he faded in the second. Do you honestly think he represents the direction the team wants to go in. He has skills in the red zone, he can out leap someone, he doesn't get jammed at the line of scrimmage. Well, those strengths just don't get it. They don't give him any edge at this point. I would like to see another receiver get the chance. I don't have anything personal against him. Just don't see Ireland's logic in this signing.
His signing of Naanee and everything else he has done post Marshall trade is exhibit A in his trial of being a competent gm. I am not attacking the trade. I am saying he neglected addressing the position.
I hope he pulls a Ted Ginn and seemingly for no reason at all torches the Jets. Not related to my quote I love how everyone says Ireland didn't try to address the WR position. As if anyone here knows what he has tried or not tried to do. Not reaching in the draft doesnt equal not trying.
Section has a source that said we went hard at Jeremy Maclin and Nate Washington. He certainly tried.
