Sherman says Tannehill 's tipped passes on him

That's a taught technique too, for the OL on the play side to cut block on those short set, quick passes. You are right, it is only an illegal chop block, if he is already engaged with another blocker.

I'm not sure how this got to be a story so I don't know whether its a media creation or not.
But IF Sherman addressed the tip passes specifically I think it was stupid.
If he doesn't address the tip passes it could turn out to be nothing more then a fluke.
I mean good defenses bat down passes and the Texans are a good defense.(The Redskins batted down 4 passes against Drew Brees)

But, now that Sherman has addressed it he's made it an issue.
You gotta think that every DL you face is gonna have batting down passes in the mind when they face Tannehill even more then they already do.

I have the game DVR'd on shortcuts and haven't watched it yet.
Did the Sherman ever try a pump-draw?
Get those jump happy DL in the air and run right past them.
Or did he move the pocket to get Tannehill on the edge?
And did you run any zone-read?
Did you throw deep to Armstrong?

Nothing even the least bit tricky on offense. No pump-draws and only a couple bootlegs as well. In my opinion if you take the tipped passes away Tannehill looked like all we could hope he would be at this point. Sadly you can't just take away the bad breaks.

In my breakdown I had two deflections the fault of Tannehill, two on the offensive line and one as a great defensive play that couldn't be prevented. It is a small issue but IMO it's being blown up because it was his first start. If this happens week 7 it isn't more than something you shrug off.

As for Armstrong - He got open fairly deep over the middle. The throw was a bit high and wide but Armstrong didn't give a great effort either. Armstrong needs to come down with that ball just as Ryan needs to bring the throw down as well.

    Fair enough. I'll admit after looking at the post, it looked different than I meant it too but;

    1. I was typing on my phone.
    2. I was typing while mostly paying attention to the game.
    3. I was typing while watch us implode before my eyes.

I would've tried to explain myself but before I could I was hit by a :crapstrom:
    But what's done is done.

I thought the last tipped pass hit the defender in the helmet don't see how that's the o-lines fault

They weren't tipped passes, they were blocked ones, they weren't even close, he's got to be more aware and more athletic to make the adjustment.

Dude I know I am the someone you are talking about. Striking someone in the solar plexus ? OMG man. great idea. Define " engaged ' please. An Olineman can only push people around. Now, A d lineman takes to the air at any given monent with his arms raised. Did you actually watch the game ? If anybody had well timed anything, the Texans had well timed jumps. You can hit anyone you want anywhere you want but if a Dlineman hits the ball before he is even at his highest thats leaves a split second before the Olineman knows the guy is in the air, another split second to react. And yes, I am using best case scenario with super duper reflexes when I say split second. If there are any Physical therapy specialist on here they will affirm its actually more like SECONDs on reaction time, not split seconds BUT, lets say we have super human people that do react in split seconds. By the time your " well place hit to the solar plexis ' actually occurs ? Er yeah, the ball has been battted down already.

What happened at ATM ? 19 batted balls in one season ? PLEASE believe me. If Sherman could not fix it at ATM please, how is he going to fix it here. Shermans son in law Zac Talyor was his QB coach at ATM. This is now going on TWO YEARS the kid is having his balls ( ouch lol ) batted down, two years. So I guess ATMs Oline did not know what to do either ? Same Oline coach, Jim Turner, who I believe is good could not correct his Oline ?

Like I said, Tannehill did it in college with the same coaches and he continues it here. Ya think maybe a lot of teams realized this when he entered the draft ? Ya watch any football this weekend ? Tell me how many times an entire Dline constantly jumped in the air against oh, Manning, Brady, Bradford, Palmer, Brees, Rivers, Sanchez. Answer ? not many. The Dline of the Texans looked like Mexican jumping beans, no insult intended to anyone. I watched and rewatched many games from this weekend.

Ryan Tannehill is a special guy. Apparently he makes Dlineman jump into the air when its a pass play where all the other NFL QBs only get it now and then. You bet its on Tannehill. His former College coach knows it and knew it, his former QB coach knows it and knew it and his former Oline coach knows it and knew it. Yeah, I am the guy who agrees with Sherman, this is allllll on Tannehill.

Tell ya what. Watch the Oakland San Diego game. Once in a while the Oakland Dline had its hands up and forget about jumping. Wanna bet the Oakland Dline and Lbers turn into semi Mexican Jumping beans this Sunday ? LOL, you know they will my friend.

Kid had 19 batted balls last season in college. IMO, thats an issue. He does not have a problme in practice because our D line is no where near athletic enough to jump up, with exception of wake.

    This is what I read.

"I don't think that's going to be a problem," Sherman said. "He hasn't had a problem with it in practice."
If there was a finger to point anywhere, Sherman said, it should be pointed at him.
"I'll take the blame for it," he said. "I should have prepped him better for this than I did."

And you also called him...and myself stupid Canadians. I bow to the superior intellect of the almighty, all knowing jsizzle. Apparently in your fantasy land anyone that is not American know nothing about the sport (Boomer would disagree but that is not the point). You even PMed me reminding me I was a Canadian and a ***** and I should go watch hockey.

I reported said PM and nothing happened. Sadly. That tells me that personal attacks are now allowed. Game on.

On topic: Sorry for the thread derailment everyone. I just had to voice my opinion in a public forum since private got me nowhere.

I am not being humorous. Hit the link and tell me it does not have ATM on the side of their helmet. I guess I could have put it aTm but I have always and always use ATM for it. As far as George W. and them having TONS of that nice Oil money, nope, they do. Its been ATM for a long long time.

I understand that. However, it is not referred to in that manner. The T stands for Texas, which is why it is larger than the other two letters. :)

Our old boy Chad basically agrees with Sherman. It's pretty much on Tanny to adjust to the throws he's gotta make, which hopefully is something he makes every effort to learn.

I think this has to be considered part of it, what with Sherman willing to shoulder some of the blame himself.

"ArmandoSalguero Trent Dilfer says the deflected passes are a coaching issue of predictability."

"AdamHBeasley Dilfer said that ideas of changing release point, etc. is rubbish. Said the issue is predictability of play calling."
