Cool. I;ll have to pay attention to the time today and hopefully catch it. Funny... 3 years or so ago when I first got Sirius, I really enjoyed listening to Adam Schein... Now I think he's just a cocky, arrogant douchebag. It's clear to me that he hates Miami too, and by the sounds of things he's probably a Jets fan. I've hated Ross Tucker too every since he came on Sirius as well, but now he's really grown on me, and he's one of my more liked personalities on there to listen to. Rich Gannon... I just dont really have an opinion on.. could go either way I guess.

Thanks for the heads up though.

Tucker I like. Schein I just don't like no matter who he is talking about. And his callers with the nicknames....its like WWE on the radio when they call in.

Nice, thanks for the heads up! Those channels usually have segments where they take the newer, lesser known coaches and interview them once a week. A lot of really good stuff. Usually it's been coaches I could care less about like Spagnola (sp?) or Shurmur (also sp?). But still very interesting to hear a coach talk about last weeks games, player injuries, other stuff. It's better when it's Pat Kirwan or Tim Ryan doing the interview though...

Also, I echo both of your sentiments about Ross Tucker. Hated him at first but he's grown on me. Listen to him every morning when Stern is on repeat which lately has been 80% of the time...

Ha! I think that's what turned me off to him at first. Also, I hate the music he plays coming back from a break. Ultra lame but after listening for awhile I think it's a little self deprecation on his part. He's also not super informed about every team, but he still manages to discuss recent events in an entertaining way.

He is talking right now about how HIGH he is on Tannehill and what he has shown in Camp to determine and give the staff confidence that he will continue to make the smart plays, and get about 70-75 snaps and he said whether its running or via pass, or audibles and assignments he will continue to make the right protection and reads. Lots of upside and what he trusts is that the accuracy will be there regardless, as Philbin said, more than anything, when the ball leaves his hand, he has shown to put it where the greatest chance for completion exists, and that he limits the chance for error.

Really likes that Tannehill knows what he did right, or may have missed, before he even comes to the sideline to discuss.

About HK, he said, nothing was scripted, and really agreed to do it, because as he told the staff, the teaching of the kids, is no different from pop warner upwards and no trade secrets will be lost by having it on film, etc.

added that the gameplan for Texans as opening game for Tannehill is focused on execution of specifics (when compared to GB days) and get him his comfort early and often and then over the coming weeks it will expand....more about crispness of the playcall, than the quantity for now as his first game out of the block. Need balance in that dome.

LOL, Philbin was in a long explanation of his thoughts of the roster makeup, and open door policy, and being honest of what he expects from the players, and type of players he wants, etc, adds that while he is 51yrs old, with 29 years coaching, he still doesnt have all the answers...all of sudden the music was playing for the hardout, and they had to cut him off, thank him, and he quickly said, thanks, talk to you next week as it faded out.

haahhaaha....he is a rookie at these shows and will get better there too. Love it.

agree on Schein... total Jets fan, he gets really mad at the callers sometimes. Tucker doesn't have a voice for radio at all, it bothers me. He sounds like he has some type of speech impediment. But he can have good opinions... I enjoy the Tim Ryan Pat Kirwan show the most... but I don't listen as much as I used to due to work. Jimmy Miller is always great.

Accuracy was the most glaring quality of his arm.

    Notes from camp.

"Tannehill in tight coverage, showing serious ball placement skills"

    "Tanny showing conscienscous ball placement"

".but if were gonna run twice as many plays he's also going to be able to execute that with better accuracy and a movable pocket.."

    "He's way more accurate..super accurate.."

    "
Dude came out confident, definitely carrying some swagger, {which comes from already knowing the offense}Telling people what to do, and from a pure talent perspective, displaying the most talented QB skills we've had here since Dan, and its not even close..The ball hit the ground three times, and that's because of legit drops by his receivers...3 TIMES..Yes, he did it in shorts, and in 7 on 7's, also 11 on 11's, but the top 10 talent was evident, and he did not dissapoint..Trajectory, will not be an issue at this level, if you can't catch his throws, then you don't belong in the NFL as a receiver, I seriously can't believe I watched a former receiver in college display that kind of talent at QB, now I don't yet if he has the mental part of the game, and we all know that part of the equation is most important, buy my goodness does he have the other stuff..I will keep going back to him during this post giving some details on him, because I literally couldn't keep my eyes off him, and he did things throughout the practice that impressed me.

During college, what I saw was a QB that had this overall ability from a physical standpoint that really was hi level stuff, the combination of throwing talent and athleticism is deserving of a high 1st round pick, but what scared me were these bonehead throws he would make from time time to time, almost like he would see it develop, he would look at it, and not recognize how impossible the throw was, or how bad the receiver was in position..It scared me, however, with what I saw today, and what i've seen out of the other two, I believe were gonna have a QB competition..CK was right when he hypothesized about what if?, what if the kid came in and displayed the goods, with a sense of confidence?.. Oh he did that, and imo, he just made the coaches stand at attention..Their gonna have to rethink this one I believe."

I keep hearing from so many sources about his accuracy..I think it's something that some of us underestimated a bit.

Again the point I was trying to make back then was just that everyone seemed to be acting like scaredy cats setting the bar for Ryan Tannehill way, way, way low...so that if he sucked you don't have to be disappointed. People just weren't even envisioning the scenario which is actually kind of common when you hit on a quarterback, which is that the guy just constantly surprises you to the upside, over and over and over again.

That's kind of what it was though. It was to the point where people couldn't admit they would be even a little bit disappointed if Ryan Tannehill didn't make a serious run at the job, even to the point where others that admitted they would be, were chastised. Hell it got to the point where Joe Philbin was equated to Cam Cameron if Ryan Tannehill even played at all this year. That was a serious argument being put forward by someone here. People didn't even want Ryan allowed to compete for the job. After all, if it's not really a competition then you can't really be disappointed with him losing it.

There was no tolerance for a vision of early success with Tannehill because then with that comes the potential for disappointment if he's not quite meeting that vision.

I don't blame people. Dolphins fans are like the equivalent of battered wives, when it comes to that position.

I don't think we would have picked him that high if Sherman did not give rave reviews. Sherman was confident in him and I can't get out of my mind the scene in HK at RT's first practice where Philbin turnaround and did not want to show to anyone that he was so impressed with ball location and accuracy of RT, he was chuckling to Sherman how good his arm was.

The argument was that Philbin would be equated to Cameron if Ryan played before he actually earned it.

I wouldn't be disappointed because I didn't expect it to happen. It had nothing to do with me being scared. Being disappointed means I have to have an expectation and then that expectation doesn't become met.

I base my expectations on the information that was provided for me. Throughout OTAs it looked like Ryan wouldn't get a good shot at being the starting quarterback. That had nothing to do with being afraid of expecting too much out of him.

Yes there are people who look at Ryan starting as a reason to give up the season and I do think they would fit your criteria for scardy cat. I do think they are the minority.

I can only speak for myself, when I say I didn't expect Ryan to contend with the starting spot, I wouldn't have been disappointed if he was the back up quarterback for the beginning of the season, and I am freaking happy he earned a spot, exceeding my expectations.

There's a difference between being scared and simply believing that there is a better way to develop a QB.

Especially early IMO, to many new systems that were installed, it takes time to see how people really will perform in them.
