It's a little funny because Omar spent all morning talking about contingencies in case Long can't go.. Moving Martin to LT... Putting Garner at LT, keep Martin at RT and put Samuda at RG... it was unclear if he thought Jerry would be out too and that was why he wanted Samuda to start at RG or if he just wants Samuda to start (as he is not a fan of Jerry... or Matthews).

I read a tweet from Omar about how there is a lot of 'talent drop off' from Hicks to Jerry...

I wanted to throw my phone through the window.

Jerry has talent. The problem is he's too fat and doesn't have the discipline to constantly use it. I hope Jim Turner keeps him puking all season long till he gets the message. Then make it clear he better be under 330lbs reporting to camp next year or he's toast.

He's one of those guys that you just want to wring his neck because he's got the ability.........but the light bulb is still dim.

Karlos Dansby, Kevin Burnett and Brian Hartline are all practicing fully as well. Finally some good news heading into week 1. We need all these guys out there.

Was dreadlocks not watching on Hard Knocks when Philbin was told that Long would be fine? Perhaps to busy watching the scene where he questioned Philbin on why they practiced well and looked bad in games. Douche.

That's really what it is..a grown *** man who cannot foresee his own future, and all that it entails, if he just got on a proper nutritional program..can you imagine?, the ignorance and a bit of will power is the only thing keeping him from becoming a multimillionaire..

Wow..food over millions..if he doesn't respond to the coaching he's getting at this point, he's about as dumb as it gets.

How awesome would that be? To go up there and beat the Texans? Shock the world! Then I can solely focus on winning the lottery.

sorry to say it happens to a lot of players these days. Look at the Olineman from Alabama, forget his name but got drafted high a few years ago and has just about eaten his way out of the league.

Some with a Nebraska kid a few years ago. Toniu Fonoti. Was drafted and had a slight weight problem. Started right away and from that point forward it was a downhill spiral due to the fact he could not keep huge amounts of food out of his mouth. He eventually ate himself out of the NFL. Sad too because the kid had a lot of talent was a virtual road grader type.

They set a limit for Jerry to report to camp, he reported at 360 and that was still too high but they kept him anyway. I am positive this season their eyes will be on him and if he does not lose the weight he will not be on the roster next year. Of course if he plays super great then all bets are off but I am willing to bet they will still give him a weight limit to report around 340. Kid has the talent but with the extra 30 lbs on is he able to play at a high level for the entire game for 16 games. Guess we will find out.

Do not believe Omar when he says Jerry is a drop off in talent from Hicks. Hicks may have the experience but Jerry surely has the better talent. IMO

FWIW, not being sure of the accuracy, Jerry is listed at 328 on the official website roster. I hope Jerry in fact lost the weight and that this is correct. He could be really good at that weight.

He's been listed at 328 since the start of camp. It's not accurate. No one loses 40 pounds in a month without major surgery.

I guess you've never seen Biggest Loser? Some of those dudes lose 30 pounds in a week.

But you are correct. No way Jerry is that light right now.
