and a new beginning as we head into the season this week. http://www.hbo.com/hard-knocks/epis...preview-episode-05?autoplay=true&cmpid=ABC158 We will get to see the cuts, the preparation for the season and maybe see how close we were, or weren't, on some of these cut day trades.
LOL. Only thing I know about this episode is that Isaako Aaitui and Clyde Gates will be featured pretty prominently. I kind of feel bad about losing both guys. No coincidence in my eyes that Gates is a Jet. I felt like Gates was at his best as a football player in Week 17 of last year against the Jets. He didn't even get any catches or even have the ball thrown to him I don't think, but I watched the All 22 tape of that game and he was giving Antonio Cromartie and even Darrelle Revis a hard time. Was a different player from Week 1 to Week 17. Really didn't get much opportunity to show that in this training camp. I just hope the numbers at the position didn't work against him like they did that year when Jimmy Johnson brought something ridiculous like 13 tailbacks to training camp and ended up cutting the only one that was worth a damn (Tyrone Wheatley) because the numbers meant fewer opportunities which meant more noise than signal.
At least HbO won't be able to waste any more of our time with Eric steinbach..what the hell were they thinking focusing so much airspace in that dude, it was a ridiculously poor decision by their executive producers.
How about some attention to Cameron Wake? Guy has been basically invisible on this show. You would think the best defensive player on the team would get some love.
DTV tied my HBO into another package that I talked them into... so I might have to wait a couple of months... mmmmaybe
I am so confused on how their hasn't been an in depth segment on Cameron Wake. I mean this guy has the best story line on the entire team. Then he leads the AFC in sacks a few years back, and they can also give Ireland a little credit for finding a PLAYMAKER. Come on I want this guy to get some National attention around the league and to other fan bases. He is a model player and has the best attitude a guy can have. Plus they can show him working out shirtless for DJ
Is it possible has asked not to be heavily featured? I don't know, it's the only thing I can think of.
I started a thread on this, but Isaako Aaitui was just cut by the Jets for a punter. He could be added to the practice squad.
But he might not be able to practice all year, so is that something you want to do? (not you specifically, but a rhetorical you)
Ya gotta like the consistency of the "professionalism" message from Philbin on down through the assistant coaches.
Look at Ireland talk. I can't wait til he gets this speech from Ross... starting with "We are releasing you today..."
Well he was with the team for close to a year all-together. Probably tough to leave. Loyalty is hard to come by (for both sides), and some people are just (naturally) more loyal than others.
