So you know for sure the Skins offense has completely different terminology than ours?

The Fins carrying 5 RBs no longer. Released Steve Slaton. Could end up in WSH. Doubt Fins carry 4 Qbs for long, either

Nolan played a lot mainly as a reserve the past two seasons. 2011, PFF rated him the 22nd safety in the league with a +1.3. He allowed 52% of passes into his coverage completed, which is good, and a 70 passer rating which is very good. He played 438 snaps at safety. 311 in coverage.

In 2010, his first year, his PFF rating wasn't good. -6.5, but he allowed just 42% of passes completed and a 49 passer rating, on 413 total safety snaps. 216 in coverage.

Shanny's O is a variation of the walsh/holmgren tree...base offense should be very similar, although terminology could be different...

So it was sort of an Armstrong for Slaton thing in the end anyway. :)

not sure why the hell we'd cut Slaton before Thigpen.

On AA: Our offense has different terminology but IMO WR is one of the easiest plug and play positions. The basic route tree and call is always the same. The hardest thing for him learning the offense is chemistry and option routes.

Exactly. And the odds are just as good they use similar or same terminology as it is they use different. So, for someone to proclaim with totally certainty it is different, likely amounts to speaking out of school.

Did we sign Armstrong or claim him off waivers?

So you concur with Padre that our offense definitely has different terminology than the Skins? May I ask how you happen to know this information?

Rotoworld thinks Nolan could see alot of snaps early. I'll take that as a positive.

Troy Nolan intrigues me. I would doubt his acquisition would lead to the release of Tyrone Culver but I can only hope.

I'm not saying its entirely alien. Every offense has slightly different terminology, especially with plays called at the line and not in the huddle. Can you imagine playing Washington and having the exact same terminology with Tannehill barking audibles at the line?

It's most likely very similar but still different. Kind of like French and Creole

I don't see Armstrong having any difficulty in his adjustment because he's simply there to force safety help. It helps Bess and Hartline quite a bit and if James Jones is in the cards he'll slide in nicely at split end. This will be the first time since 2009 that Miami will have a WR core that compliments each other.

Hopefully they'd base it on something other than this preseason. I think Wilson has to go down as one of the biggest disappointments thus far.

We had 7 DBs, and needed 9. Now we have 9. Unless there is another signing, I doubt it. If Drew Coleman is over his concussion issues though, I'd sign him and cut Culver. Drew would make a nice nickel or dime back.

We don't see the practices. Since they kept Naanee you can be sure something other than the games is going into it.

I'm still not sure about Thigpen and whether or not he makes it. I could see Moore traded, a WR added, Naanee dropped, and then another defensive player added, perhaps a DE.

Sure, that's true. But his play in the games this preseason was not good. I think his special teams abilities and versatility keep him on the roster; but for all the hype he garnered going into this season, it sure hasn't panned out.
