well guess I'm removing you off of my twitter account..........I mean wait............if I was this omar character I would remove you off my twitter account.........
Seems like there are alot of those...... Hartline is the only WR drafted by Ireland that has done anything. Bess a nice UDFA find. Otherwise bubkus at that position.
Ireland's draft classes prior to 2012 continue to shrink, save for 2010. Only A.J. Edds and Chris McCoy gone from that class. 2008 - Jake Long (1) 2009 - Sean Smith (2), Brian Hartline (4), Chris Clemons (5) 2010 - Jared Odrick (1), Koa Misi (2), John Jerry (3), Nolan Carroll (5), Reshad Jones (5), Austin Spitler (7) 2011 - Mike Pouncey (1), Daniel Thomas (2), Charles Clay (6), Jimmy Wilson (7)
Damn I was hoping to keep Baker. He's a blue collar guy.... really loved his motor and work ethic. Oh well, victim of a numbers game and simply put -- Aitui and Randle outperformed him. Hopefully he catches on elsewhere.
They'd be really stupid to cut Matthews. Even dumber than they've already proven to be. Gates I don't really care for. Blazing speed but it doesn't really translate on the football field. Matthews has been the second best receiver on this team all preseason (behind Bess) and it's not even close. Naanee is ****ing terrible. This is exactly what he's done throughout his entire career.... look solid in camp and suck when the actual games are played. I'd keep Bess, Hartline, Matthews and trade for Jones and sign Gaffney. Not a single other receiver on this team is worthy of making an NFL 53. Maybe Marlon Moore if we keep 6 due to Hartline's health, but he's back in practice now. I do hope they stash 2 of Fuller, Cunningham, Hogan on the PS.
Hogan and Fuller might just make it if they cut Na-Nu, Na-Nu. Marlon Moore has definitely made it so far.
This is the ultimate screw up - draft a guy in the 4th and then cut him the next year. But that's not the worst part - because I know people love give Ireland credit for admitting his mistakes. The worst part is that he is cutting him even though he is probably a better option than the crappy veteran Naanee that he is KEEPING. So it's a wasted pick - that didn't NEED to be wasted.
Sorry guys but Naanee is sticking. Dude got reps with the 1's from the get go in camp. They are going to keep him. I think its Hogan or Matthews.
They may not cut the more experienced Naanee until they acquire another experienced receiver. Pat Kirwin was talking on NFL radio yesterday how important experienced receivers are to a rookie QB. There are a lot of nuances to the passing game that require a lot of communication on the fly during the game between QB and receiver. If both are very inexperienced, then a lot is lost in this communication. I agree that Naanee is awful, and hopefully if they get another experienced receiver like Jones he'll be gone, but I would not be surprised if he survives this initial cutdown.
Or its possible Ireland is having a problem downloading the latest Madden13 PS3 player ratings to figure out who to keep???
If they were hoping to sneak Hogie onto the practice squad, you think he would be one of the first cuts, act like he never had a shot. Making him one of the last cuts ups his stature a bit. So I'm thinking he might make the squad.
Yeah, I think it's 6 games on the active roster for the cutoff. Edit: Here's the rules. Just don't ask me to translate it. Have no prior Accrued Seasons in the NFL (An accrued season is six or more games on the active roster); Have one prior Accrued Season in which the player was on the 45-man active roster for no more than 8 games; and, Have been on the practice squad with a particular team no more than 2 prior seasons unless the team never had their active roster go below 53 players during the two years the player served on the practice squad. If that is the case, the player is eligible for a third practice squad season http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2010/8/24/1648313/nfl-practice-squad-explained-rules
