Player or pick? That's the question.

Saves the Fins a million bucks and gets them compensation for a player they were going to cut anyway. Will say this though, he had a really good game against the Boys last night. Evidently they noticed.

If it's a player, I'd look at these guys as possibilities:

    S Mana Silva
    WR Dwayne Harris
    WR Kevin Ogletree

Being reported a 7th round pick.

Jeff Ireland couldn't get that 6th out of the Colts straight up. Got a 7th out of the Boys.

It's reverse day. Kent State is returning fumbled punts the wrong way and the Miami Dolphins are sending slow offensive line trash to the Cowboys.

If this is any indication, we are going to be busy the next couple of days with trades. Pulling off any kind of compensation for a guy we were going to cut is a major coup. Unless Cook was subject to waiver wire rules (drafted 2006) and the Cowboys knew they couldn't get him.

BenVolinPBP According to @SportsSturm of Fox Sports Southwest the #Dolphins got a 7th in return, which makes sense

 good thing I tweeted it to Ben first... hey at least he found out what the comp was unless someone is following that Fox sports southwest feed :shifty:

    I'll take a 7th... so supposedly that's:
    1,2,2,3,3,4,5,6,6,7,7 next year.

    Round 3
    Round 3 (f Bears)
    Round 4
    Round 5
    Round 6 (f/ Colts)
    Round 7
    Round 7 (f/ Cowboys)

    ...We can do some damage.

Or we could use them now, for a trade. Maybe for Julio Jones, if that rumor holds weight.

BenVolinPBP Ireland's "ammunition" RT @Teengaming: @BenVolinPBP draft 1,2,2,3,3,4,5,6,6,7,7......................................... if we hit the target .... but hey JJ wasn't the greatest draft guru , he just knew the more swings you had the more hits you got ... and I don't disagree , you just have to hit some stand up triples or home runs , not just texas leaguer singles , and we know those all to well , and the reason we are struggling imo.

Ogletree is their #3. If we got him for Cook, it would be the heist of the century.

so we know the names of the three receivers, Stallworth, Mike Sims Walker and Brian Tyms... I'd doubt we sign any of them. corners? They probably just needed three corners to cover these guys :wink2:

Only two things make sense to me. Jeffy convinced them he was prepared to keep Cook, or the Boys believed another team would be bidding against them for his services on the FA market because Cook wouldn't have gone through waivers, and they felt that would drive his price higher than his current salary.

Is it just me or every time I see Ben Volin tweet, I just look at his avatar and confuse him for CK?

Not trying to insult CK or anything but......

It seems to me that if we were working out WRs it would have made sense to have Tanne throwing to them, or is that not allowed for some reason?

Once they get to the point where they are no longer able to be a restricted free agent, so I believe that begins in year 4?
