The o-line is our biggest improvement and that aloneshould propel us into the middle of the pack. If one of the QBs can get it done we just might have a good to great offense.

In order for us to have a great offense, we will need RB to stay healthy and a 3rd WR to step up. (This does of course include the QB play that you mentioned).

its tough for me to believe that we will have a great O but i hope i am wrong.

The line will help considerably but i think we need more than a few things for it work.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves, we might have a decent OL by the end of the season, but it will feature 3 new players and likely 2 rookies. Look for the OL to suck till late in the season. One more decent WR does not an offense make. Nor does a QB competition.

I don't want to seem too negative here, but all I'm looking for next season is 5-6 wins and a "decent" enough O to have some confidence going into 2009. The best thing for our offense is for the D to manage to stop opponents from running on us all day, then the O will see the field a lot more and have more chances to make something happen.

If our OL starts to gel EARLY, then we might have some good fun watching our power running game, and what an improvement THAT would be!

Very nice read. I agree with most of you guys in here already, our OL is definately our most improved area. Reading that article actually made me feel pretty good about the lineup. Im still a bit worried about the WR and TE positions though. I like the addition of Fasano, but is it enough?

We're still in the beta-testing phase for this offense. It's far from a finished product. Here is what this "build" looks like...

QB - This season will be about figuring out which QB will become the full time starter for the next few years. It's an assessment, or 'search' season to settle the QB position.

OL - new players and rookies mix to make this a learning season, not a dominant one. If the line stays together for several years, 2009 will be when we start to see a consistently solid performance from this unit. Of course, we may end up needing to add a new guard next offseason, and may not re-sign Vernon Carey, potentially bringing another new face into the starting line-up there. Depending on whether we return five starters in 2009 or switch a few, the may have to re-learn things again in 2009. I hope not, though.

WR - Clearly Wilford has injury questions and there is no great 3rd down receiver. This unit will benefit from one more year of experience, and one more top-quality addition in next year's draft or FA.

TE - These guys should show improvement this year. Still, learning a new offense, just like everyone else.

RB - Usually Runningbacks are the most 'instinctive' position on offense, and adapt the fastest to new offensive systems. As long as they are healthy, Ronnie and Ricky should perform to optimal expectations. If they are not... No, nevermind. They'll be healthy.

In summary, I agree with Phinsrock.

Miami Dolphins ver 0.8 will debut this September. QA-tested copies to go on sale sometime in fall 2009.
