Jesse Agler: Hartline certainly looks like he'll be back sooner rather than later for Dolphins. Good news for sure. Izzy Gould: Hartline catching passes for a second day...jogging off field. This via Twitter. This would be a huge boost for our offense if he's ready by Opening Day.
Back in 2009, Miami's young receiving corp did well with a simple formula. Hartline as the #2 WR, an all around guy who could run solid routes and get a nice YPC total, a slot guy in Bess that consistently was open, and a third guy as a deep threat. Right now Hartline would be a welcome addition and if Gates has anything to show, then the team may have a respectable WR core (Ginn wasn't all productive in 2009 either but he did challenge the safeties). It's not flashy but perhaps Ireland looked at the numbers and saw that that 2009 team wasn't too far off that 2010 team which featured three overly similar players.
I have a suspicion on the Ireland WR trade rumors. There is a strong possibility that they are all for not and the team simply wants to push the guys they have now.
Martin is a LT. And he is a finesse player. He will actually fill in nicely for Jake. He is out of place at RT. That's a mauler's position, and that ain't him, and that's why he is struggling. Its why we have always struggled at RT.
Apparently it was Jakes right leg. Does anyone remember which knee got hurt when Sparano foolishly played Jake during a rainy fourth preseason game two years ago?
That was his left knee. http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/20...902_1_jeff-ireland-dez-bryant-andrew-hartline
