This seems like a bad idea. Expectations are low for this year. Don't go wasting something that can be useful for 2013-2014 trying to correct a problem with this year's team.
I think it would be a good idea only if the WR is young and fits with the rebuilding plan. Mike Wallace for a #2 and a #3 (both of which we have extra of) would be an example, if it can happen.
Expectations are low for this year because Ireland traded away key players. That said, Ireland trading picks for immediate help is completely out of character for him.
THis is what I expected from the start. Ireland doesn't do this deal if we aren't desperate for WR help NOW. He already has deals or A deal lined up, but needed a 2nd in his pocket first before he felt okay moving forward on it, imo. We'll see a deal within days for a WR.
My expectations are quite low due to starting a rookie QB. That's not a great way to do much, historically.
I really think the Fireland stuff grew so much, that he woke up to needing to change his approach or get fired by Ross. Not because of fan voices, but because Ross himself was getting sick of the approach and lack of results. Ireland adapted to save his ***. And I think he will be less risk averse than in past years now.
In theory, yes. But Mike Wallace is holding out for a mega contract so I'd be cautious about trading for him unless a reasonable contract was already agreed to.
That's generally how this works, right? They give our people permission to talk to his people for a set period of time. If everybody likes what they hear, the deal gets done. Am I making that up in my head?
Ireland can't use the pic next year if he isn't here. Its like spending money when you know you've been diagnosed with a terminal disease and have 8 months to live.
I doubt we get Wallace, but I'm virtually certain that deal doesn't get done for the high water mark in this thread so far of Bess, a 2013 2nd, and a 2013 3rd. If Ireland can pull that off, elect him GM for life.
But he'll be so thrilled at the opportunity to play for a losing team, with a rookie QB and a GM no one (including his fomer teammate Clark) likes that he'll take a discount to play for us, right? Everyone wants to come here. We're like the Pats with even better weather.
Bowe is no Wallace. Besides, I think ideally they'd like Tannehill to develop chemistry and consistency with a WR year-over-year, not set up a revolving door for the kids WRs.
Long live the Dallas Connection, Dez and his mother! That's a Hard Knocks press coference if I ever saw one.
Who would you prefer? I think I might have to go with Bowe. Seems like he would fit this offense better.
As I said around when the actual trade came out to the public.. I see that 2nd rounder being used as ammo to get us an elite wr to help this wr unit by a lot
Wait one year, we might get Bowe without giving away anything. He signed a 1 year deal after a long holdout. Doubtful he returns to KC, and about a month ago he expressed interest in coming to miami.
He better use the pick now. If this season goes as badly as I suspect it will, hopefully it won't be his pick to make otherwise.
That's a HUGE leap the writer made from Ireland's comments. Per Hard Knocks, Ireland hear's all the comments the media makes criticizing his decisions. He spoke to calm the media down. I very much doubt the Dolphins are in the market for a WR. Ireland likes his roster. He thinks he has enough. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Watch Ireland trade 2 2nd rounders and a 3rd for old *** Bernard Berrian. Wouldn't bat an eyelash if he did something like that.
